Music seeps way deeper than video games and tv

    Not really.

There's pastors who listen to nothing but "holy" music who have molested children and scammed their whole congregations out of money.

There's people who listen to nothing but street rap or heavy metal who live completely ordinary lives.

Music can influence people to a degree just like TV/Movies but it other factors play bigger roles in influencing people.

Most people don’t even listen to artists unless they’re wealthy and successful

Capitalism is natrual and just , a fair exchange of services and goods, but also there should be market regulations, countenance for the less fortunate, the state should support its people , but capitalism isn’t a specter

You contradicted yourself within your post

Why would a fair system need to be regulated

I always felt like it was the songs that played on the radio with seemingly innocent lyrics that actually were very sexual/heinous. Families listen to that in the car together thinking it’s ok.

Short film starring James Brown and him meeting the devil at the 'crossroads' The Hotel Name is titled 'Crossroad Hotel'. The introduction of the scene where JB is located is a crossroad (Street & Railroad) The subtle cues artists place within their music is brilliant at times man ngl

A song about that event (shown in the music video)

    Don’t play dumb

Those pastors know what they’re doing is wrong and they don’t actually “absorb” that holy music or use it as their main source of entertainment, they’re only pretending to enjoy it in front of the church.

“Ordinary life” isn’t the most beneficial life to other humans or yourself

The human brain doesn’t fully mature until you’re 25 years old(businessinsider.com/age-brain-matures-at-everything-2017-11)
and a lot of this music is being played to little children, they are absorbing it and it’s shaping a lot of their ideas of the world

OF COURSE the responsibility is on the parents themselves to monitor this content, but if the parents grew up f***ed up with the same irresponsible parents they are now, then the cycle will only continue

Not every parent has the luxury of controlling everything their child consumes, bills have to be paid etc.

At some point the “everyone is on their own with only themselves and their fam” mentality will end up biting everyone in the back

You kinda proving my point and don't even know it.

You brought up how these corrupt or predatory pastors out there can filter out the messages of gospel songs and hymns when they're living their lives.

Many people do the same exact thing for other types of music. The biggest consumers of Heavy Metal and Gangster rap are suburban White kids with disposable income. I'm sure plenty of them and others can "filter" things out the same way.

And parents play a huge role. I grew up in the hood under joinrt custody from my divorced parents. Listened to AEOM, Ready To Die, GRODT, and DMX's first album as a youngster and never did crazy s*** cause of how my parents raised me.

Dysfunctional households will have a negative influence on kids, with or without music involved. And, if something traumatic happens, it can lead to mental illness...another thing that influences people negatively if not treated properly.

Thats crazy op, because I was just thinking the other day that
The devil has to be in music because someone can say the worse things you would never agree to in a song and if it sounds enchanting enough you’ll agree with fervor

Prostitution? Murder? Carnage ? Mutual massacre of the black community ? Selling d**** to a pregnant woman? Glamourizibg a d*** you know is tormenting you to millions of impressionable children ? Abusing women? Being deceitful etc

i think it's better to instead be concerned with the implications of SES and single-parent households on raising children and trying to fix those issues as opposed to crying about music influence

    This.

    And mental illnes/trauma.

Lots of kids in the hood suffer from mental problems due to traumatic experiences and abuse and don't even realize it due to the stigma of therapy and counseling in many urban communities.

Edit: My sister is a licensed counselor so I have first hand info on this.
