s*** crazy to think about ultra boosts. went from s*** you could buy 4 months later for half off, to selling out immediately, to eternal bricks

they prob gonna treat SBs the same way once Trav stops f***ing with em

that’s literally what happened to sbs when they first came out.

sat at all the skateshops at retail price cause kids who shop at skateshops weren’t buying/wearing Nike at the time, then the sneaker heads came, then the diamonds dropped, then it was all down hill after like the black/purple boxes, then disappeared completely till recently...

and now all the shoes I bought at retail and resold for 250 tops are all going for over a rack on stockx

Next wave is the Nike basketball shoes like lebrons Kobe’s I think 11’s are gonna be the new 1’s, and foams are gonna be the ones we regret the most not getting now. Think about it s*** is like a cycle from the 2000’s. Back then after sb’s Nike basketball had a big wave. That’s why Nike retroing all these Kobe’s and the south beach lebrons. Plus the kids when these shoes first came out are now adults and can afford them now. there will a sense of nostalgia for this next wave.

he’s using the “fashion trends get recycled every 20 years” theory

11s were huge early 2000s. all the retro cws and dmps etc tbh outside of the sneaker head homies it wasn’t a lot of ppl wearing 1s in the early 2000s or at least not like how they do now

It's very understated that despite not being a black owned brand, Supreme consistently goes out of it's way to express how they are a brand that pays tribute to and caters to black culture, regardless of what kind of demographic is associated with Supreme as far as the general public is concerned.

The first photo tee was with Wu-Tang, followed by Dip-Set.

How many of these suburban white boys are listening to "What's the 411" ? Their is a reason why you can still get the MLK hoodie and the Public Enemy x UNDERCOVER collab for close to retail, sometimes even under.

Those clothes aren't made for them.

Kobe’s were already starting to get re release again before his passing like the jokers 5’s. His passing probably moved up these releases. I felt like too we heard about grinches retroing before he died too.

I don’t wear/follow basketball shoes at all so I didn’t know all that tbh

calling it gentrification is such a lame over exaggeration especially considering most of yall are atleast upper middle class. Its like when people use the word rape out of the context of actual rape.

Calling resellers landlords is also a super dumb take. nike dunks aren't a human right you will live without them the biggest issue with this video and everyone in this thread is the individualistic blaming. Why get mad at the guy trying to flip a pair of shoes and not get mad at nike?

it is a form of gentrification tho, and it's nowhere near unheard of. the co-opting of especially black styles and cultures isn't a new thing

  • i think it is definitely an issue and something that happened, cultural exchanges are an inevitable part of living in a multicultural society

there needs to be more cross borrowing rather than just one-sided biting
