I remember classic threads here and on ktt1 exposing him for this
Didn't recall many salad rhymes on Morale tho
because he made it up in thin air pretty much
kendrick does his rappity rap stuff mainly on features, never got that vibe from his albums
i think maybe they hear one or two words they have to look up and they dismiss it as a word salad
where is he rhyming just to rhyme on mr morale? or in any of his work in general?
I’ll have to go back to Morale in particular
Warriors in conans hope euphoria can slow dance is a famous one off top. Any time he raps fast though he starts putting some filler words in

Yeah honestly he probably improved that aspect on Morale

God toss full of carnivals

there's like 3-4 rhymes scattered within those couple of bars, it's not rappity rap at all guy
Now that's an username I haven't read here in long time
it's like a ghost, or say a bogeyman
there's like 3-4 rhymes scattered within those couple of bars, it's not rappity rap at all guy
I don’t know what else is there
But that part in particular, he clearly prioritized the rhyme over the meaning
I mean it kinda is a a knock on it. He ends it off by saying how dope is it really when you only want to listen to 2/3s of it.
@Uhhhhhh
it's not a knock at all, different projects offer different forms of replay-ability for different people, it's really not that deep at all - within this thread alone you have people saying they haven't went back to it, others say they play it all the time, every now and then etc.
if we're judging the quality of albums off the basis of how often they're listened to/sheer enjoyability then pop is objectively the superior genre
just because other mainstream friendly albums get more burn on a block, club, car etc. doesn't make it a "better" album, and i don't even know why this notion has to constantly be went over
it's pretty much the reason why that sales thread even exists, im starting to think you lot are just insecure about what you listen to
After Morale where else is there for him to go if he's gonna continue his typical theme albums ?Fom Section 80 to MM he's covered so much of his personal life . Now it's time for a total pivot.
I would like for Kendrick to give us at least one mixtape type of project where he's rapping random streams of thought over stadium friendly/heavy bass type of production. A workout/ ride around album.
Start "talking his s***". Give us some slick braggadocios bars. Then he can get back to his thematic albums.
this is the third post ive seen like this too, why are people docking points from kendrick's music because he's not making banger whip music?
it's genuinely like this site's userbase got dumber as the years went by, it's really sad to see

Morale was both a natural but unexpected progression of his works.
Now I need an album full of songs like Prayer

Let me be clear, i'm a big Kdot fan since the Kendrick Lamar EP and I'm definitely not dissing his music .
But it's like watching your favorite actor only do one type of movie. You want to see them add variety to their catalogue especially when they have the ability to, thats all it is bruh.

The deleted post my post was a response to was about how Justin hunte wasn't tryna knock the album in the video.
But to ur point, just like albums have different levels of replayability. People also have different criterias of what makes an album "better" and replayability might be of more significance than some.
And an album having replayability doesn't inherently mean it has a lot of sales, just means u urself play it a lot lol

Guy gifted us Baby Keem for those. Also like 2words said playlist chasing joints of his albums are the weakest part despite being listenable but I still find sad that he needs to put those or his work would sell like TPAB did.

Would an album full of bangers add such variety to his discog tho?

well sure, then that's when we would get into the realm of subjectivity, i personally don't see why i need to constantly play a project and have it in my rotation to sing its praises
i have plenty of albums and projects that i hold in very high regard that i dont play because i either grew out of that taste that i had then, i might of burned it out from playing it so much, it may be too dense for a casual listen etc. but none of this has bearing on the actual quality of the music for me, and i don't really see why it exactly would
i listen to a lot of griselda but i dont think they're mind-blowing or anything, they make cool stuff to just throw on

it's pretty much the central critique ive seen delivered from drake stans and other detractors, since kendrick was rapping about "smoking on top 5s" i guess that set up the expectation of him rapping on a mainstream sound with no conceptual/thematic scheme
pretty dumb imo, and not really worth taking seriously

Yeah it's all subjective. I said it earlier itt, I don't need to constantly listen to an album to rank it highly.
But for me, Kendrick is one of my favorite artists so Mr. Morale not sticking with me for more than a month or less really when it came out this year is a knock on it in that regard even though it's pretty good as an album

Yeah I always read the same lazy criticisism from those stans as well
