I was in the couch making beats......it didn't feel real till the funeral.....it was a somber few weeks in my house
i was 12 i’ll never forget it, saw it on the tv
died one day before my bday
rip the goat
Had just gotten home from school, most likely would have been my last day of school at the time. Mom was cooking dinner and the smell of garlic of onions was in the air and I was just glued to the TV reading the news.
Didn’t really affect my parents because they’re kind of boomers when it comes to music (dad listens to classic rock and mom 80s hair metal), but my grandmas were huuuge MJ fans. They took me to see This Is It when it came out, so MJ was like our thing. I remember asking my mom to use the phone so I could call my grandmas, and they were crying when they answered the phone. I’ll remember that day like it was yesterday
In the living room and my uncle called my mom outta nowhere and said go to the news channel and she just started crying. Very crazy moment for me. That’s my fav artist of all time and to die wen I’m 11 was bizarre

MJ on Daft Punk RAM

Respect to both. Stevie did many things Michael could not do, but this not a competition
Just happened to be watching CNN right after school. I think it like...4 pm and they broke in with the news. I had to call my mom at work and she didnt believe me.
EDIT;: Wait i wasnt in school. The f***. I forgot where I came from when I got home.

This is about remembering MJs greatness not petty comparisons to other artists
