also, for the first on topic post in a minute, Novect released another teaser of their new VN. Really liking the music, colors, and the background art. That main girl seems to be animated as hell lol.

I've been eyeing the Type Moon series for the past week or so too. I believe Mahoyo is getting a (re?)release in December, and the Tsukihime Remake has a fan translation that they're speeding through, so I'll check that out when it's completed. I've heard really good things about em so I'm pretty excited. Think they're like < 30 hours too, so not nearly as long as Umineko lol

I'm sure you'll be hooked with both Trails and Xenoblade. Working on the second Trails game and I'm really interested in the story. Was sorta expecting to force myself through these earlier games, but I'm loving it, especially after the ending of the first one.

Pretty easy to set up. When/if you get around to Umineko, it's from the same site with a similar install process.

The art def isn't the best I do think they have some charm, but that's after getting invested in it all. I think Rika's sprite looks pretty good compared to the others though. I went with the PS3 sprites for both games since I think they look really solid.

Higurashi def a long read, but it felt significantly shorter than Umineko. Idk how long I actually spent reading it, but it didn't feel nearly as long as Umineko.

How was YU-NO? Got a Steam Deck earlier this week, so I kinda wanna take advantage of not having to be at my desk to read VNs lol.

Same here, but for Ciconia. Saw all of the WTC VNs are on sale, so now is a good time to pick em up (Higurashi is dirt cheap regardless). First ep of HIgurashi is free, so you could check it out to see how it is, but I'm sure you'll like it if you like Umineko lol.

YU-NO first half was good and then the second half took a turn. Unfortunately the ending was confirmed rushed and incomplete. Still enjoyed the characters, game & music overall tho. Definitely need a guide

Still think 428 might be the overall/most complete read this year so far, with AI being the worst “VN”

I think I swapped back and forth with the audio at the beginning. Fortunately it's easy to just hit the hotkeys and swap it on the fly. I think the music is pretty much the same during the answers arcs, so you won't have to try and decide there.

And yeah, Umineko is def P5 length, if not more I really wish I knew how many hours I spent reading both VNs. Umineko took me just over a month or so to read; Higurashi like 3-4 weeks?

Yeah it was good, not amazing like Fata Morgana or something definitely something to read if you like crime thrillers & a bit of humor. Don’t know if it’s similar to something like Judgment

Actually now that I think about it and listen to some tracks, I definitely had the original audio playing for a majority of the time reading through the questions arc. Couple of my favorite tracks come from there.

The OST is actually so nice to listen to man. Some relaxing ass songs on there. Really makes me wanna read through it again (even though it's not gonna happen)

I do like crime thrillers I imagine it's probably somewhat similar to Judgment, and if that is the case, I'm sure I'll love it
