I can see Cyberpunk 2077 beat GOT as well. But yeah crazy that CDPR's next extremely hyped project for the past 4 years doesn't even seem like it will come anywhere near TLOU2

I dont think Cyberpunk is going to be eligible for this year. I think the delay fkd that up and it missed the cut off date, though certain publications might sneak it in for this year. But yea it would've totally beat it as well most likely.

    You're right.

They should've given the Game of the Year award to Days Gone. That had a 8.2 user score so its a great game!

Or you know, an actual good game like Ghost?

Also regardless of ones personal opinions on the game. If half the public hated it and half the public loved it, how is that deserving of game of the year? Put all biases aside and think about that.

My opinion is final, I'm afraid. Everyone must come to terms with it being good once I say it is good. My opinion is final and the only one that matters.

I hope this toxicity and stupid narrative around this game dissipates down the line

I don’t wanna tell people in 10 years that tlou2 is the best game i had experienced at the time and have them be like ‘abbi was a trans b**** how did you like that game’

Not everyone who dislikes the game is because of SWJ stuff.

In 10 years I’ll still tell you the story was bad, the ending was terrible, and the characters were largely unlikeable

I honestly don’t get why people love a cop out ending so much?

Like the story being bad and characters unlikeable I can see people disagreeing on but people really enjoy a cop out ending?

GoT is fine. But it doesnt push the scales in anything. Even as far as open world games go, we have seen games incorporate bigger worlds, way more things to do, and have a much better story than the one in GoT

The end result is a serviceable open world game that honestly isn't too far off from this recent Assassins Creed game. The reason I bring up Days Gone is because its proof that user scores are stupid af and should never dictate anything about the quality of a game. I will never in my life trust what some mad internet virgins have to say about a game.

TLOU 2 pushes video game narrative in the stealth genre even further ahead than Kojima himself ever could and even though its stealth mechanics are still not on the level of MGS5, the end result is by far the most effective stealth game ever made in every way possible with incredible motion capture performances, graphics, and detail to its world. Its a game that doesn't play it safe in any way, whereas I think every single element of GoT is safe. Its a game that doesn't take the easy way out in any single way whereas GoT could easily have done so much more with its world but chose to go with a smaller world and with less things to do outside of killing people.

Its the riskiest ending possible. Nothing about it was a cop out. A cop out ending would've been if Ellie killed Abby

  • Nov 25, 2020

If you even needed further proof of how effective TLOU2 is, I can tell you that I don't remember a single detail about GoTs story despite just playing it a couple months ago. And clearly nobody gave a single f*** about its actual story either.

Meanwhile, people to this day write essays in detail about what they love or what they hated about TLOU2s story

it’s a technical achievement from every way you look at it. this game was not supposed to look that good on the PS4, the gameplay wasn’t supposed to be that buttery smooth and the writing wasn’t supposed to be as challenging as it was for people.

they took a huge risk and forced people to look at narrative, characters and environment in a whole different way.

it’ll be years before every element of a game from the haunting score to the visuals come together like this.

reddit convinced yall that joel dying was game ruining as if joel was a saint in a world filled with monsters.

I disagree. The whole entire story you are on a mission to do something and all of a sudden you have a change of heart? That’s a cop out ending. #!A good ending would have been #!Abby killed Ellie or if Ellie killed Abby!

thats not a good ending. Thats an ending that betrays the sentiments of the story to give the fans what they want. If that isnt a cop out ending to you, then maybe you lack basic understanding of what a cop out actually is.

No, a cop out ending is randomly changing the entire story in one instance for no reason at all at the end of the game.
