People who are deep into the house scene have been able to make valid criticisms when comparing Drake's album to other House artists but even then some of those people don't even realize the heavy Amapiano influence on the album which is equally why some of the takes are complete s***. A lot of the album is in line with that sound, hence why Black Coffee is on there etc

    No it's not imo

Except 808s was actually a new sound whereas HN is just generic house music

name an album that sounds like HN lol

i don't think its an entirely new sound but calling it generic house music is wild. It sounds nothing like generic house music at all

The people who already have a natural bias towards Drake and anything he does were never gonna give this project praise

Baltimore club is so much different from other types of house music tho, also he probably takes more influences from overseas house, especially South Africa.

pitchfork gave it an accurate review with 6.6 score

Nah it deserves like an 8 or better. Album is incredible after a few listens.

I was a hater at first cause I was hoping for rap drake, but this album is so so good when you really listen past expectations.

This was a passion project and it shows. He really was channeling his inner Sade especially towards the end.

Some of the best and most award winning albums didn’t have great numbers at first. Part of the downside of deviating from the formula, but it’s about the bigger picture. This one is going down as one his best efforts when we look back 10 years from now.

I never loved a drake album before and I love this one

It’s a slippery slope to tell people how they should feel about an album. Even if some are being facetious I still believe people have the right the criticize an album to whatever their standards are. I’m enjoying it, I’m glad to see others are enjoying it, and hopefully it will grow on more over time because this is his best effort in a long time

the critique that kinda bothers me is the fact they said drake “didn’t try” or put in effort in this body of work. and I find the hypocrisy in their laziness of their write ups

You can say this about pretty much every album that’s dropped in the past year or so. Why is it special because it’s drake?

Because people aren’t even giving this a fair chance. They’re taking personal shots at people who like this album.

    It’s weird

I like the album a lot, but why are we acting like this is the first album to get panned upon release?

Because people are making it personal. Not critical.

There’s no subjective review for this album.

Again none of this is exclusive to Drake's album
