really excited for We Run This City, David Simon and George Pelecanos' upcoming HBO show about police corruption in Baltimore in 2015
kinda seems like a unofficial spinoff/sequel in a way, especially if they decide to focus on the d*** trade a bit as well as the dirty cops

Damn. Season 3 might have my favorite finale montage (aside from 5 but that’s a series one so of course it’s gonna tug your heart strings the most) but I still can’t put it above 4 or 1. I might even put 2 above it but I know I’m in the minority there. Where you’re at with 4 is where I think I’m at with 3: a lot of important stuff happens but I personally can’t put it at the top.
When Avon sees Marlo is the courthouse

Yeah depends on what hit you the hardest. But damn, the way Dukie ended up
The new Bubbles/sharrod
Michael the new Omar.
Randy
Nay really the only one that got away.
Whatever happened to Walker the Baltimore a****** ranger
Misread this at first, I see what you mean now. Despite spending almost more time with him, we’re not made to feel for Scott the way we are for, say, Ziggy.
Exactly, just like with Ziggy. The moment he goes back in the cellphone shop and wets up Double G, you realise he was just a broken dude all along, and you empathise with him some more. Boy just wanted his stripes, and everyone kept doggin on him up till that point, from cheese, to what's his name, ye big guy who beat his ass and left him on top of a container Sobotka arc really dope

One of my fav scenes in the series, when the camera spins around Ziggy like his life has just spiraled out of control. When Frank speaks to Ziggy in jail is heartbreaking too. Reminded me of a Hubert Selby Jr story.
The Big Guy aka Maui :datass:
Poor Ziggy. I felt so bad for him near the end of his arc. He was an annoying guy and his dad being who he was probably contributed to him being such a f*** up but damn his arc always makes me so sad.
Finished Season 5. Wow I could not rock with Jimmy in this one at all, that boi tweakin
Whole time I was like the f*** you doin?
Lester? You too nigga?
Bubs tale was a novel and everything wrapping up in that Baltimore montage was sweet too.
Glad the writers didn't bend Cedric to make him something he never was.
Visually, the season looks s***tier than the previous ones, idk if I'm buggin tho.
F*** that Scott news reporter too.
Kima reacting the way she did was completely understandable. Matter fact, I was on her side. Bunks too.
Omar's death scene had me shook. Did NOT see that coming the way it did
Overall, ranking the seasons, I'd say season 4 is prolly the most important, BUT, I still enjoy season 3 the most. So:
3 (10/10)
4 (9/10)
2 (9/10)
1 (8/10)
5 (8/10)
yea lester and jimmy low key were dirty cops
but they did get the job done.
both Kima and Bunk couldn't do s*** without Jimmy's intervention...
literally the whole police department would have been f***ed

nay like clay davis lol
Y’all ever try putting a homie on this show only for them to call it “boring” and dropping it after the first few episodes?
happened to me in like 2011-2012 and I just picked it up and finished it.

I honestly think I’d put 3 last even though it’s an amazing season
Picking up sooo much stuff I missed watching the first time around, like how it was never really just about the money for Ziggy in season 2, and how his story mirrors with Stringer's arc. Also, this is when Bodie really comes into his own, and proves that he's not just a foot soldier, and Stringer sees something in him.
Prez really decked his father in law
Bro f*** valcheck fr
Bro f*** valcheck fr
That whole family trash f***em
At least Prez redeems himself during season 4

You right about Lester and jimmy but they took that s*** way too far in season 5 lmao i simply couldnt rock with them

I still rock with them because they didn't ascribe to the politics of the organization/city.
Daniels, I had more respect for in Season 1 and 2...but as the show grew on, I could tell he was mostly interested in his career.
(Wild that he stole McNulty's side piece)
Daniels turned out to be hella slimy when you think about it.
EDIT: Lester gonna be good regardless. idk about Jimmy though.
Broke the chain of command for his career, etc.
Remember when normies mentioned GoT in the same convo as The Wire or The Sopranos?
yooo fr
I get a hit of nostalgia when watching this now. the clothing, music in the background, cars, tech etc... the 00s is vintage now and that makes me feel old
nothing been the same since!
Top 2 and it’s not 2
nothing been the same since!
This and the sopranos are undefeated
