had some goat moments as well.
the only thing that bothered me tho as time went on was that fake serial killer plotline they kept spinning and then even lester got caught in it and i was like "even cool lester smooth up in it?" OK then lol.

but i actually liked some of the newspapers staff like gus

also thought omars death was well handled some ppl say it was pointless, but that was the point tbh.

Yeah season 5 still brings a lot of heat, Gus is a brilliant character and it's so damn cool that they got Clark Johnson (director of the first two eps of season 1, and the season 5 finale) to play him. Man really wore both caps perfectly. Plus Dave Simon was a newspaper man, so he got to do a super personal season there.

Omar's ending is the most natural way for it to happen - would have been huge garb if he had some big guns blazing ending imo, we've seen him survive every sticky situation possible but the game he's playing doesn't have a happy ending to it. There's no heroes, no Robin Hood s*** at the end of the day. The game is the game - you either get out or let it pass you by.

and even the omar thing fits perfectly and comes full circle
knowing kenard kills him and he was the one who wanted to be omar back in season 3 when that shooting happened and one of omars crew members got shot dead (the girl)

Yeah it's just a perfect fit, the whole thing comes around in just the right way and hits all the notes. The end of the show is literally just saying 'the players change, but the game stay the same' in large scale. You've got Kenard starting himself on the Omar path, Sydnor becoming basically the next McNulty, Marlo caught between two worlds, etc.

Plus that final shot of Omar turning in the convenience store is just iconic as f\*\*\*.

yeah the end of the show is bascially the same as every ending montage from the prior seasons, everything stays the same its just different players in the city
