Me too I hated the line at first then my boy explained to me 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
U with me is top 10 drake
Big facts man, for me it was an extraordinary song even when I misunderstood that bar.
I think it's a very solid album that aged pretty well
However, there are some issues that prevent it from being in the same level as TC and NWTS:
1 - Extreme lack of cohesiveness, Drake tried to put every sound he could on this album, and imo it just didn't work
2 - Failed execution, that reflects itself in the bars I mentioned and other lackluster songs as a whole
3 - The angry vibe of a lot of songs, that comes because mainly of the beef he had with Meek Mill
4 - Length of the album, this album could've been condensed to a much mor concise body of work, it doesn't need to be 20 songs (80 minutes)
Views is actually very cohesive...not sure what you’re talking about

These idiots let joe Budden and haters make them believe drake ain’t go in smh

ok broo
This thread wasn't just about Views so ima say my piece about the rest of the post OP made.
I truly think Drake has it in him to create an album that even Drake haters can't deny are amazing but he needs to change a few things about his mindset when it comes to albums. Drake has a weird thought process when it comes to his projects that's making his catalog not seem as great as it is. He doesn't make whatever he is trying to do with albums for apparent.
IYARTITL is suppose to be a mixtape but doesn't have a single song on it where he is remixing or freestyling over someone else beats and he ain't drop it just for daftpiff or soundcloud. WATTBA was made in 2 weeks. More Life is suppose to be a playlist but lacks playlist qualities outside of anything Drake does normally for an album. He says he has trouble giving a classic rap album because he wants to give people the R&B/Pop side too but on Scorpion it was the perfect time to have one side classic rap album and just put all the R&B/Pop on the other side. Yet we get a rap album with songs that wouldn't have even exist without the Pusha beef, that weren't full of timestamp level of bars, and that had God's Plan (Pop song)on it and on the R&B side we get Nice For What (Rap song) on it?
Drake needed more time to develop all of those projects and he didn't give himself that. Imagine if IYARTITL was mixed with Views and More Life with Scorpion. Imagine of WATTBA was worked on for a couple of months and not just weeks.
I'm so happy Drake is taking would seems like his longest time in between projects because I think he works best when he is giving himself time to make sure all the best songs are on one project and not spread over multiple ones. Take Care was even called that because he said he took time and care with it way more he did with Thank Me Later. Nothing Was the Same is his best album because there is no filler and every song is unique, amazing and shows of all the things that's formidable about him.
I hope that this project really shows off his rapping skills and he limits the hits to just 3-4 songs. Nobody can ever deny that he can make a hit. I just hope he treats the hits like Money in the Grave and just release it separately from the album. Something he could have done with other albums.
Views is trash and full of cringeworthy lines
Never cringed at a Drake song until I heard the intro on this s***
Also “I get green like earth day” is laughable
I can see why Drake went from seeing this album as “the one” to “just another chapter”
The critic that he received got in his head. As I said, in my opening post. As people seems to miss the point of and it instead becoming a Views debate.
Thats why I also said ML and Scorpion has been kind of underwhelming. Because of what happened after Views.
Views is aging really good and people that has been critical of it are backtracking.
Thats why my broader point was that I hope they have approached this new album differently. Which by sounds of it is back to an approach they had with TC, NWTS, IYRTITL, Views etc.
ML his best album in recent years to me
I get green like earth day is so bad but y’all niggas prolly saying cole “heating up like cheese eggs and potatoes” is fire. Lmao y’all niggas some clowns bro
Omg we all know this wasn’t supposed to be how the original views was y’all gotta move on
Okay... but it has aged great.
Also, I dont remember people calling it mid until after that rant.
i remember the day it dropped very well. my friends wasn't feeling, a majority of social media wasn't feeling it and it was the moment a lot of ktt became drake haters
Views was supposed to be his "Blueprint" moment (it being on a higher scale tho). In some ways it was. He finally reached such a crazy high that people turned on him and he can do no right in some peoples eyes. Difference is the blueprint was loved, views wasn't.
i remember the day it dropped very well. my friends wasn't feeling, a majority of social media wasn't feeling it and it was the moment a lot of ktt became drake haters
It also suffered because there was so much expectation before its release
Also dying at y'all defending those garbage ass bars lmbo
They clearly stand out in a bad way when you compare them to his run of 2011-2015. even post-views i dont think drake would be caught dead saying some of s*** he was saying on views.
some of those lines sound like he had them laying around in the blackberry back in 09 that weren't good enough to make so far gone.
Views aint awful. its very inconsistent and flawed but with some good moments.
exactly what I think
Y'all was foul for s***ting on Summer Sixteen. s*** was lowkey better rapping than 80% of views
And if anyone in this thread needs to know what Drake himself thinks of Views, go listen to the DJ Semtex interview
What he say?
I honestly don’t remember a single person not tuning in to OVOSR to listen to the premiere of Views. Love it, like it, or hate it, the album was an important time in music and will always be remembered
This is such a stupid thread man...y’all make this garbage every 2 weeks it feels like.
What he say?
"I was having trouble figuring myself out in rap at that time, I was a very defensive individual just coming off the situations I had come off of. I was having trouble making rap music where I could peel back the layers. Everytime I'd make a song, 40 was always very honest with me and would be like: "you sound agressive and defensive", and I was trying to figure out why, and it was just reaction to my previous situation. There was a time where I thought of taking rap off of Views"

The man himself said this and you still go against this statement and say he wasn't defensive......
