Twitter and the thinkpieces like to deconstruct gender roles because of how much of a hot topic gender/race/sexuality has been the last few years. Doesn't have to exist at the level it does today tho. There's nothing wrong with masculinity (as other users have pointed out there are definitely positive masculine traits like courage, leadership, etc). But toxic masculinity is literally killing men. Why do you think suicide rates are way higher for men?
