Also insane that prayer to coffee bean is some massive drop in quality like you could’ve at least pulled some actual bullshit like highest in the room
If true that’s good to hear. I was disappointed when I found out he didn’t write it
Yeah Travis wrote the track in entirety. Cyhi was there to correct things like flow and meter

It's a pretty big drop in quality based on lyrics. The production is entirely different.

Ur tripping sack lol coffee bean is prolly the most introspective Travis had been at that point, as shallow as it is
It can’t be defined in that way but they have contributed something great to rap. They’re both very talented at channeling an aesthetic which is entirely rap itself. Their ability to capture live crowds with their music shows they’re doing something right while remaining authentic to hip hop. The proof is before your eyes.
Sorry they do not abide by the 5 elements of hip hop
i just saw travis bust a fat breakdance the other day

I do have some issues with Travis but I can't deny, him and Carti are definitely Hip Hop asf.
Carti saved rap in 2020 bro
Mfs were crooning on emo guitar beats before that
funniest post in this thread
The problem with blaming 808's/Rebirth is that it's essentially penalizing Ye/Wayne for experimenting and I just can't cosign that.
If anything, T-Pain and Kid Cudi had just as much influence on the melodic singing wave as 808's did even though 808's inspired many. And Uzi pushed the rock-rap lane further than Wayne especially with his Emo/Punk aesthetic that he was pushing hard while d***riding Paramore.
I think it's way too simplistic to claim that these 2 albums made newer rappers respect hip hop less, especially when Ye and Wayne have continued the keep many traditional rap elements alive in the mainstream after dropping those albums.
As a huge Drake fan I honestly look at Travis as more pop than hiphop at this point but I do think he’s killin it
2 rappers who don't care about hip hop. Only thing they care about is the bag. I'd like to blame the consumers instead but I get ur point. It's insane how protected Carti is when it comes to criticism
It is crazy because Carti is so trash as an rapper. His voice is horrible too idk how niggas dont see it. It’s almost as if we aren’t even listening to the same thing.
Travis Scott and Carti are the most hip hop artist on a mainstream level for this new generation
you’re cooking but they gotta understand hip-hop beyond their narrow interpretation of “real rap” to hear you
hey did you guys know that rap music bad now, rap music good back when? crazy that nobody thought of this before.
