It doesn't matter about the establishment. Trump already showed us that the first time he ran (They never wanted him to win and for good reasons too). Unfortunately he has the majority of Republican voters on lock. Also, did you watch those primary debates from 2016? DeSantis has no chance against him.

If the Establishment prefers DeSantis, the GOP House can continue to investigate him.

Trump going third party would be the funniest s*** ever.

as big as his ego is, and as much as i want him to to tank the Rs, im not sold just yet on the idea that he will run independent if Rs dont go with him. he is a pompous prick but he is in-tune with strategy.

There's no way in hell they would investigate Trump, even if they prefer DeSantis. It would be viewed extremely negatively by their MAGA constituents, and the MAGA flank of the House would push back way too much.

To be fair, he said "Crack Head" with the quotes

  • Nov 11, 2022

Whoever wins they’re all going to rally behind regardless I don’t think this is an “implosion of the gop”

  • TorturedSonic

It seems only republicans and RW twitter truly understand how over it is for Trump

Yep lol it’s clear DeSantis is taking the torch at this point

A DeSantis presidency is going to be a nightmare too, will be way worse than trump

Word. Not taking the second bet cause of course he'd win, lol.

Dems gonna keep pushing Trump and ignoring Desantis.

There’s significantly less of them than before. The desire to protect him will be less if they feel threatened or he continues threatening DeSanctified.

I agree that they’ll feel less likely to defend him or go to bat for him, but there’s just way too much risk for their own seats where they would publicly go on the attack against him.

If Trump is ousted from the GOP and decides to form his own third party, will he just straight up call it the Trump Party?

  • JaeRell

    Desantis not running in 2024.

Idk if he wants to wait till 2028. His second term ends in 2026 and there’s no telling that he’ll still have this much momentum in 2028. If he wants to be president, trying to run in 2024 would make the most sense but I still think he’ll lose the primary to trump.

You do know this is Trump we’re talking about right? If DeSantis won the primaries over him (he won’t), he’d definitely just claim he’s a victim of voter fraud again and run as an independent.

I legit could see Trump switching to the Dem party, going hardcore to take up their policies, and establishment Dem voters being super happy because they’ll act like they just gained an infinity stone and become hardcore Trump supporters and wear blue hats saying MAGA. Trump would do it cause he doesn’t give an actual s*** about any policy/belief other than love for himself and caring about others loving him, and establishment Dem voters would do it because they also don’t actually care about policy.

I don’t think it’s anywhere near likely, but just saying it wouldn’t be out of character for anyone involved.

I would hate it, but gah damn that would be one of the most entertaining news stories of all time to watch play out
