Gender is an entirely social construct. We’ve basically decided what is feminine and what is masculine, etc. as a society and are forcing people to conform to those standards to “fit in”. I think people who are born trans should be nurtured and supported, regardless of what they look like.

All that these medications and puberty blockers do is force someone to cosmetically change themselves to attempt to blend into expected societal phenotypes without real consideration for possible long term medical effects and complications (at least when it comes to children who are given these medications during a period of otherwise rapid brain and bone development).

Certainly adults can make their own decisions. But in my opinion, we shouldn’t be telling children that they have to look a certain way for their feelings to be validated. It just propagates an unnecessary cycle of superficiality into subsequent generations. We need to reach a point in society where trans people are and feel accepted without having to conform to a specific look or have/not have specific features. I don’t think medications and surgeries get us there.

It's all about the kids for most. Whatever strange things you do behind closed doors is your business but the moment they start pushing this on to kids and give medications to kids to transition people are going to speak out.
