You can't go wrong with any Sony or LG OLED imo but I like my A90j
I’ve fallen in love with the new LG C2.

Heard good things about the C2
Would be amazing, ive been looking at huge square CRTs for the past week and just thinking "how can someone lighten these up and why did people just say f*** you to square tvs". Why does every show need to be 16:9 bruh?
movies had been in 21:9 for years
having TV in 4:3 meant there was a huge difference most movies being almost 2 by 1 while TVs were almost 1 by 1.. meaning everything had to be cropped and shifted manually or over half the TV would have black bars.. the film industry said their movies didn't translate well to the old size
16:9 was seen as common ground between the old timey 4:3 movies were shot at in 1890-1940s and the newer 21:9 almost everything in theaters uses these days
also CRTs are neat but I'd rather not own a TV that causes cancer if I sit too close
also interlacing hurts your eyes for reading texting, OLED is far easier on the eyes even if CRT has better motion

Yea,i don't expect the FCC or whatever to ever switch back to 4:3 square TVs. But at the same time,i think square OLEDS could work at 75 inchs and up,big enough for 16:9 widescreen to not be tiny af on your screen. It would be an interesting option for consumers

Samsungs MicroLED series costs 5figures + so not a consumer product but they sell it in separate panels that let you stick the panels together and create your own screens with whatever ratio you want
I think we will see more ratios & custom sizes the cheaper this tech becomes over the next decade
yeah it's intersting to think about but almost everything these days is made for 16:9 outside movies so it's kinda wouldn't be that useful unless you wanted a 4:3 monitor or something TVs are just so much more limited cause the content you put on them are made for a certain ratio
like what are you gonna do on a 4:3 screen? watch 2 movies lol
I guess old TV shows

Old TV Shows and video games tbh. It would be a refreshing option for sure if it ever becomes a thing. And that MicroLED tech sounds interesting but yea, know ones paying upward 10K for that(Samsung has some interesting products out there right now tbh). But anyways, look at this f***ing huge Mitsubishi Monitor from 1991
Its starts st 21:31,imagine playing PC Games on a monitor like that back then imagine playing PC Games on a monitor like that now

yeah I just mean in the future once it's cheaper obviously no one paying that much for a TV
yeah looks huge for back then, yes old shows & games would make sense, OLED turns pixels off tho that are black so you can get a pretty good 4:3 experience with that these days but yeah you could get a pretty large screen if it was made for 4:3

I think square,4:3 TVs come off bigger then modern 16:9 TVs as well. Its an interesting prospect for gaming for sure
Sweet cause I don’t really have a safe place to store it at the moment either I would of had to figure that out on the fly 😂
True... It should be worth it though
I've got a 42 C2 always said I'll get one whenever I buy a ps5. It's the perfect size for the bedroom...no idea how these people use the 48+inch C1 as desktop monitors. S*** must be killing your eyes

how are the following companies tvs:
If anything I only have owned a vizio once and it was a tiny 1080p tv for a small room and it served it’s purpose

TCL is really good for the price depending on which one you get
5-Series and up are worth it
I currently have a 2020 6-Series and the picture quality is fantastic it’s got Roku built in but I just have an Apple TV hooked up to it for preference
