No they shouldn’t. I wouldn’t want a d***gy as the pilot of my plane. What if they get addicted to a d*** and end up piloting the flight while under the influence? It’s better to eliminate that risk.

Weird as hell I directly provide care to disabled kids and adults and no company in this field tests anyone, but I had to test for every factory job and even for a restaurant

I don’t think any company does blood or hair test. Urine and mouth swabs are standard and you can request those test if presented w one you don’t want

@Butters1017 I appreciate you hold a view that people are free to use these d**** outside that context and that’s excellent. But eliminating d*** users from any job, is still a view that objectively isn’t compatible with modern science. The vast majority of d*** users are not « d***gies » or addicted. Addiction rates for all d**** are the within the same range as alcohol. If you feel this way, you should also ban them from alcohol in their free time, as all of those same risks apply. If somebody is a responsible adult d*** user and are not impaired on the job, their d*** of choice on their time off is their business and nobody else’s. Many parts of the world already operate like this where this is all already legal. Not to mention even in prohibition countries, many people are prescribed the exact same d**** others use illicitly and work in those fields just fine. Pilots are still prescribed stimulants, opiates, sedatives etc. This is already happening. Prohibition exists because it’s successful at fanning irrational fears that are very profitable, whether this is prisons, d*** testing labs or sober living/therapy programs that are not based in scientific research. This issue is a product of that.

If you want to « eliminate the risk » instead of supporting these programs that have no evidence of doing exactly that, you should be concerned with the issues that cause addiction. With the most deadly and common addiction by a landslide being alcohol (outside of tobacco) minimizing these factors would reduce that as well. Which these bullshit tests don’t even address. I’d focus that concern instead on People losing jobs or not able to get jobs, being eliminated from their sense of community, untreated mental illness and the unrealistic pressure that’s placed on some individuals. Minimizing those issues are the only scientifically proven way to prevent addiction and « eliminate the risk ».

Testing at a restaurant is insane, they gotta have the most depressed dishwashers and sous chefs
