That has never been the case in many transnational companies, many have separate divisions in regards to global markets.

While there is legitimate concern to be had of power by the Chinese head division over the global subordinates, they are not one in the same. Just as American Silicon Valley companies hold control over their global sub-divisions and can dictate over them.

I am not defending the data gathering practices of these corporations but it is necessary to know when someone is bullshitting about this. Content filters are largely tailored to what is deemed acceptable both informally (by civilians) and formally (by the state). It is why LGBTQ+ references are censored by American movie studios if a film is being globally distributed
