Def interested in reading Miotsukushi, heard that one was a pretty good alt ending to the story

For some reason it's like the forgotten child of Supergiant Games, but it's easily my favorite from them (I haven't played Transistor yet though).

I honestly don't know lol. The Battler not really being Battler thing is making it seem like he's the culprit or one of the older maids, but idk. Also was thinking Ange was/is Beatrice but it looks like that isn't the case? Maria's also suspicious. Speaking of Beatrice, I can't read her for s\*\*\* lol. Also there's 2 of them now? Can't rack my brain around anything tbh lol. Beatrice def related to Battler somehow, prob his mom/sister/ex or something. Since I'm reading a VN story, I wouldn't be surprised if Kinzo & Battler were the same people, I'm getting that vibe. I also keep hearing about this Ericka or Ericko character unintentionally that everybody's going crazy over, so I'll see

Don't worry about not being able to figure stuff out. More stuff will be revealed in the Answers arc. I was confused as absolute s\*\*\* the entire time trying to figure it all out. This definitely had me thinking HARD since my ass was hooked and I needed to solve it lol.

Just finished up Witch on the Holy Night. Pretty disappointed tbh. Characters were decent, but really didn't get invested in them for whatever reason. Guess they just weren't that deep/the lack of any real development throughout the story?

Story was definitely the weakest aspect of it. Wouldn't say it was bad or anything, but I'm not really sure what to take away from it lol. I'm sure I would've loved it if I was invested in the characters since that seems like a pretty big factor to this, but they just did not click with me as much as I would've liked them to.

The translation was pretty bad too. It felt very "sterile" and was just littered with typos. Actually impressive they put this out with that many errors lol. Would've been better off just reading the fan translation on PC for free

Music and the presentation were beautiful though.

Overall would prob give it a 6/10. Sucks because I really was looking forward to this.

Damn sucks it ended up being flat, was looking very interesting from the screenshots and trailer. Weak characters & bad translation too? Atleast the music is good, hard to mess that up in a VN.
Also just remembered that have I have that physical pre-ordered too

Yeah, no kidding. I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority since it seems like people LOVE it, but it just does not seem that good to me at all. Then again, I think the same with Tsukihime, so maybe I'm just not into Nasu's writing. Probably won't give Tsukihime Remake a read now whenever that gets fully translated. Think I'm gonna cut my losses with his works lol.

I'd still give it a read if you've got the physical on the way. It's a relatively short read too, so it's not like you'd be wasting a ton of time if you aren't into it.

At first she got on my nerves, but she ended up being hilarious. That scene caught me off guard with that English & squeaky voice. Voice actress was having too much fun, then that uncalled for fight with Maria

I think you'd really like it if you enjoy those two. I just don't think Nasu's writing is for me since I didn't enjoy Tsukihime either. Everyone else I've seen seems to really love it, so I wouldn't worry too much. Translation was awful though, that's a fact lol.

Between that fight with Maria & decapitating everyone to prove her point, she's somethin else man. She's too good of a character. And you're def right; her VA must've had a good ass time recording those lines.

Let’s say I was someone who was interested in the idea of VN’s, if you could reccommend ONE VN for me to play and it would be my only experience with a VN for the rest of my life, what would it be

bro the Magic ending where everyone was welcoming Battler back hit me like a f\*\*\*ing freight train. My ass was bawling when I got to it. I don't think I can watch it again without crying lmao

What're your overall thoughts on it?

I'd recommend The House in Fata Morgana. It was one of the first couple ones I read a couple years back and it remains my favorite piece of media by far (along with Umineko). The story, characters, music, and art are something else. I think it was the first thing that has made me break out in tears several times

It should be on sale on all platforms rn (PS4/Switch versions have updated backgrounds, portraits, and the epilogue, so I'd go for those over Steam if possible).

It's not very long either; about 25-30 hours for the main story, then another like 15-20 hours for the prologue & epilogue.

I'd also say Umineko, but it is very long (like 120+ hours) and not sure if I'd really wanna recommend it as someone's first read lol. But if you f*** with murder mysteries, it's about as good as it gets.
