they started increasing the default minimum to 18% in a lot of spots in my city but im still holding down my 15% minimum rule lmao
It's not about this opinion vs that opinion. I think a lot of waiters agree that they should just be paid fairly.
But what I'm saying is that because the system isn't that way, you're s***ty and come across broke (wether it be true or not) for tipping bad. So this is just it letting it be known you're not s***. You're just like the owner. You're not paying for the service. You're paying the owner for the food.
It's as silly
You're talking about actual people who make a living off of tips. Especially restaurants that aren't high end. Those people need their tips more. Someone is going to work there if that restaurant isn't going out of business
The fact that every country has taxation and only America has this outrageous tipping culture should tell you something

I'm not sure you read satire
yes a master’s automatically makes you an expert in whatever you’re talking about

It doesn't take an expert to know random schedule isn't a real term, or that its a lot more complex what he's doing lol (kind of, these forms of schedules are mad basic but it's still mixed and "real" as opposed to EAB) never claimed to be an expert, just making an excuse to talk behaviorism and provide him with things he can actually search up. I'll talk about this stuff any day with anyone lol
No need to be confrontational over this, it's a Google search away, I'm just passionate on this. if I came on strong I apologize, its always so drilled into our heads to talk in super a***ytic terms and phrasing but casually talking about it/using laymans terms is something Im working on
Not tipping is also not going to save you from being broke!! Not tipping is actually so much not a factor in saving money, that you're likely to get more money by actually tipping!!
i feel like tipping should depend on the service. if you provide great service, you should be tipped well. if you provided horrible service, you should not receive a tip. if you provided BARE MINIMUM service, you’ll probably get a bare minimum tip (or not one at all).
all i know is, we’ve gotten to a point where just mfs placing your order at the counter of a fast food restaurant, expect a tip and thats… not really what tips are intended for. not tipping you for doing your job.
other than that, i generally dont have problems with tipping accordinly

I see so many without the minimum being 20% now
dont even know when it happened, but its way too common even just for coffee or tacos
i am wondering why her job would get upset at her for a TIP though?it’s hers to keep? so why do they care? i feel extra bad for her bc whatever the answer is im sure it’s f***ed
She obviously lied lol
If you're eating for yourself, it should be easy to know how much you're gonna tip. If you're going out with a friend, especially a girl, it's easy to calculate that tip too. She not gonna be f***in wit you if you don't tip. Some girls be going out their way to figure out how much you tip and judge you based on that. And if you're there for a celebration or a long time, you might as well just accept that a tip will be expected.
Someone is serving you as opposed to you serving yourself. Why would that not be tip worthy? A $40 meal will have an 8% gratuity I guess as the base. So what, that's $3.20 tip, $6 at 15%. I would say if a waiter has to come to you for tipping below that, I think that's something you've gotta take in and just realize you're not really doing right by the establishment.
But like I said I don't think you have to tip, but eventually you'll get to an age where it's much more peaceful to accept that if you go to a sit down restaurant there's basically an additional fee to eat there (the tip)--the same way it's extra fees to order DoorDash. And also you'll get to an age where you get a sense of pride from putting money in other people's pocket, especially for good work. I tell my friends my friends sometimes I don't feel like going to a place cus I don't feel like tipping an extra $5. That's what we have options here in America for though.
My girl is a cheap tipper too

Bruh she's not gonna tip more than you regardless of the situation. You're the guy. If your girl is out-tipping you, that won't last long

Was a bartender and known a lot of others in the service industry. The majority working would gladly ditch this tipping s*** for a flat pay raise from the employer. But as it is tips are simply a part of the paycheck you rely on.
