yep this update is really good
Finally caught up to Whispers in the Wall, good mission but lowkey I feel like they're digging too deep into one lore hole and that's the Man in the Wall
I miss when the game centered around the main "physical" factions (Grineer, Corpus) and a lot of the earlier events. Felt more grounded and you could feel the "war" part of the game
Also why I still don't like the New War and how rushed it was when it should've been a f***ing spectacle

They kinda f***ed themselves when the "New War" ended with you saving the galaxy with all the factions seemingly at peace. Everything now since then in terms of main quests feel like an epilogue.
Some quests like the new Jade one which is about the stalker or Call of the Tempestarii atleast give you the factions finally moving with motivation again. But the big Main quests have been in this weird place of just building up stuff that doesnt seem to happen or matter
Caliban outshined koumei for me, hes amazing now
fr
Koumei seems very fun tho but you not getting much out of her in short missions.
Those Hildryn and Nova qol are also amazing

Yeah. The gameplay is better than ever, but I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what tf kind of direction they're trying to pull this game into story-wise.
The Second Dream was a crazy reveal at the time, but looking back, it really gave them the opportunity to just completely take the lore off the rails instead of keeping the original conflict in scope
I haven't tried the Jade quest though, I heard good things. I'll probably get through that and Lotus Eaters today.
Jade Shadows was pretty good @Kenig. My only gripe with the quest is the Corpus letting Stalker leave for no reason other than Stalker holding the baby.
Maybe I'm too Warhammer-pilled but knowing how ruthless the Corpus are at any other point in the lore, it's kinda crazy they just let them leave lol. Did not feel right

Yeah warframe really is a disney channel universe compared to warhammer lmao
We are getting very close
Koumei, Chroma, Ivara, and Hydroid being cooked up. Hardest frames left to get is gonna be Equinox, Citrine (heard her grind is awful), and Voruna

Citrine grind isn't bad, they have a pity system for her. Most people complaining have probably tried to do the grind all at once which will burn you out lol
The demo was fine they got really good at making maps
BUT I am kinda scared about how progression will be in 1999. cause playing unmodded Excalibur is boring as hell...
The best part of warframe is being able to become over the top powerful and modding. The default combat with basic combos from a Skana and gunplay is rather uninteresting

I felt the opposite, it was a nice change of pace - I have a lot of fun with warframes movement systems and spent most the demo lining up headshots, using cover, environmental objects to do damage, wall latching etc
I'm sure we'll get normal warframe but "slower" combat, lower health pool etc and needing to be a bit more tactical and having a good grip on the movement system sounds fun to me. Overall it didn't seem too far from normal gameplay at least for me, just no map nuking which is fine by me

Hm I dunno I feel like the main game is in a great spot right now. I always saw warframe as a game where the actual decision making and tactics are prep time before the mission. Especially since they got rid of pretty much all room nuking abilities or afk cc. So being this great rn I dunno how I feel about the big expansion of the year taking (again) all our tools. It already happened too often with Railjack or Duviri.
I dunno about the lower health pool tbh since maybe it was how enemies spawned for me but this mission was ridiculously easy and reminded me alot of the first few hours of warframe. Especially with their very braindead AI and weak enemies its rather brainless. So I definitely hope they nail the leveling and progression in this.
Maybe Im overthinking it tho and unlike in this demo we will get actual modding, our weapons etc. in 1999.

I think 1999 would've been much better off as the standalone game they wanted to make instead of whatever tf they're trying to cook with Soulframe
Unfortunately they tied it pretty heavily with the current storyline, so it's going to feel a little forced. I've been very much against being intentionally gimped in WF for the sake of "atmosphere", but I also like the idea of going back to OG Warframe levels of power.
I already said my piece of the current ongoing story Not really a fan of the Entrati stuff but maybe 1999 will change my mind.

hmm I dunno I think 1999 will ultimately be much more integral to the basic game than lets say duviri.
Honestly once Ive heard the romance thing it just kinda clicked to me that this is their idea of how they can make Baldurs Gate 3 companions by making an alternate timeline where the warframes are actually humans and with that I kinda fw
Im just a bit scared of the gameplay. Because if it is this I dunno it will probably be very boring. Especially since I think their enemy AI needs a doover so bad right now

They're never gonna fix the AI. Way too many resources required to do it + the game was never meant to have smart AI anyway. Maybe very early on it was plausible when it was still a more methodical stealthy/shooty game but It's basically Dynasty Warriors now
Just let us mod the 1999 characters with what we have already and we should be gucci. If they try introducing a whole new set of limited mods for us to dump endo in I'm going to be pissed lmao

I mean they could change the progression system and make a duviri thing out of it.
Or like small skill tree for each warframe in 1999. Aslong as it doesnt stay this low tier Im fine with it
I dont think theyll just let us mod because what would be the point it would be a normal open world again. And people would barely play
Okay I’m finally going to try and complete the Heart of Deimos quest to get the Necramech and begin The New War.

Find you a solid hour to put into it cause there is no saving when you start iirc there are check points if you die tho
Also I recommend having a tab open on how to beat the boss cause I was confused at first and saw others were as well
Seems 1999 is only a new tileset and new factions thats cool
Alright I got the Voidrig blueprints.
Need to farm Purified Heciphron, Purged Dagonic, Parasitic Tethermaw, Tempered Bapholite, Adramal Alloy, Faceted Tiametrite, Devolved Namalon, Spinal Core Section, and a Damaged Necramech Pod.
jesus f***ing christ I hate it already
quest was kinda neat except the missions.
Post game seems very interesting and neat. Clear highlight is the Nyx skin with the Baldurs Gate 3 narrator voice and her update.
overall very neat update so far but the Liches wouldve definitely made it alot better
