I don’t even think cudi fans know what they want cus I saw a lot of slander for ppds

apparently he made the majority of, if not, the entire album in a couple of weeks. he did a similar thing with colouring book but i really don’t know how we ended up with the big day

ya i remember seeing that in the pat the manager lawsuit. v unfortunate all around lmao

That’s a tad bit exaggerated. He started working on the album in February to July. I think the difference that time around compared to Coloring Book, was the extreme lack Quality control, and believing that he was the rifle successor to Kanye whatever he did was just as good.

And you’ll probably see MOTM3 getting praise like PP&DS is getting now years later.

I don’t think a cudi album has been well received when it dropped besides the man on the moon albums

For the love of God, someone needs to get this beat to someone more talented. It's being wasted on Chance with these wack ass lyrics

Another problem with the big day was him trying to chase trends. Chance always worked with trendy rappers but he never let them dictate his sound. The big day doesn’t sound like a chance album at all, it sounds like ideas being thrown at a wall

his wife doesn’t look that small

  • I wouldn’t call the blog era a “genre”

  • Mar 1, 2022

He did it to himself tbh. Everyone knows if he got quality soul samples and made a fun ass summer album it would have been successful.

He chose a lame theme and purposely rapped in a repetitive, memeish manner.

That being said, I do like at least 3-4 songs from it

i always thought chicago was gonna be the next mecca of hip hop during that era. I feel like people fell out of love with the jazzy/ lyrical style of music all together.it was defo influential though. As for chance in particular, people just didn't like the album

also shouts out to lucki for re-inventing his sound like 3 times. most of his fans dont even know he came up with chance n 'em

Look at the production credits on the album. Too many cooks in the kitchen.

IMO he actually was the last artist to blow up from the blog era

Blog era was good and dead by 2016 when CB dropped so it got nothing to do wit Big Day which was like 2018-2019. It was an ok album to me but Chance brand don’t really match with what mfs want from their rappers rn. Family, non street Nigga with a bunch of mainstream connections/seems like an industry plant and his parents vaguely connected to the Obama Administration.

He needs to rebrand into something totally new if he’s never going back to Acid Rap type s***

He should pivot into pain rap, type rodwave

Yeah but we’re not talking about that one. We talking about the big day.

Yeah but coloring book dropped after the blog era ended showing that he could’ve survived past the blog era, and that’s not what killed his career

Revival is bad, SB2H is bad
    No Cole album is bad

I still to this day think 2014 is overrated, and kod is mid asf

Oh s*** didn't he support trump too?

not really from what i remember but he was jumping through hoops on fire doing somersaults defending kanye’s support which might be worse

  • Mar 1, 2022

The blog era was dead by the time he got on. His album just didn't live up to the hype

the thing with The Big Day to me is there's NO WAY that's the album he was sitting on from 2016-2019. So where did those songs go???

He literally was teasing collabs with frank, Andre, and Daniel Caesar and scrapped it all to finish random bullshit that Kanye decided to never hop on in the span of a month

I remember pat the manager said (iirc) the album wasn’t even started when he announced the release date

When do you think Chance realized he f***ed up with The Big Day?

When the ticket sales for The Big Day tour were horrific or when Kanye was screaming at him and mentioned how his album was a flop?

    Probably the Kanye moment fasho
