this is a theory I have that Sunflowers was being fake streamed and was just wondering what you guys thoughts.
when the song came out I absolutely loved it, but I generally like Post Malone and thought the song was infectious.
the problem..I genuinely never heard that song played once in the wild. NEVER. Not even by anyone else. The only time I heard that song was for TV promo.
that's weird because when news came out that sunflowers is now one of the most streamed songs of all time I thought it was pretty fishy.
there hasn't been a single other number one that I can think of that hasn't been inescapable. Blinding Lights, Old Town Road, Montero...etc...all those songs you couldn't step out of your house without hearing them or hearing about them. Sunflowers I didn't hear a peep from anyone.
I have no doubt that Post's label was heavily pumping the numbers for that song.
Now that his latest song has gone number one, I always skeptical now of what Post's label is doing behind the scenes.

you don’t have to hear it outside
it was in the spider-man soundtrack
Kids love that track

maybe I'm just too old now. but even though I'm not really on social, any song that's poppin I can tell, just from a couple swipes. That million dollar baby song is everywhere.
I wish you were too shy to post this dumb s***
I wish you was my internet buddy to not post this dumb responce
I don't know why people are laughing like labels paying for streams isn't common knowledge now.

This is the one song that didn't need bots honestly I heard this everywhere. And I never got sick of it ngl but maybe that's just me

gotchu,I live in a big city, and was in college at the time but didn't hear it at all. or hear anything about it. maybe that's just me.
montero
you're delusion if you're making the argument that song wasn't inescapable.

proof? The song is diamond. i have yet to see proof that fake streams count for billboard or for certifications.

you think there's a separate category for steams that are fake and ones that arent?
It's literally open knowledge in the industry that labels will push a song by buying fake streams. Not every song, or all songs obviosuly. Billboard doesn't know the difference..
