he really is i was mindblown when @Ithaka showed me a whole list of songs that Rivers helped write/make, featured on or gave away to other artists

yeh that’s the biggest scrapped album of the 90s tbh like in term of cult

wild how rivers was wylin mf dropped the blue album and was like aight bet let me follow that with a SPACE ROCK OPERA he brazzy, had the whole blueprint demoed out and singers attributed for the roles

there’s several songs from it that made into pinkerton or it’s besides altho they were remade to fit on the album, they are songs where rivers was the character so it’s him singing but most of the songs that had the other characters didn’t make it - ONLY ONE went through and got released and that’s “i just threw out the love of my dreams” with rachel haden (bassist back vocalist of that dog., a band that put weezer on altho weezer blew up bigger than them and ended up having that dog. opening for them) singing the role she was attributed to, it’s a song some ppl here like freakshow or my brother cotton_dockers name their all time ultimate fav weezer song

we got all the rivers home made demos of the project enough to make a compilation out of it

weezer only has two studio albums in the 90s but if you stack up the b sides of each that are just as good, and compile the songs from the black hole demo you get a total of 5 godtier records

there’s a group of fans who got together to do a full fleshed out interpretation of songs from the black hole with female singing their attributed roles and what not, not a fan of the male singers they’re too boardway but it gives you a good idea how it would’ve come together it’s nice

however it’s not totally accurate as some of the girls are actually real (the jen in tired of s***is jennifer chiba, girl who then dated elliott smith and was with him when he died)

idk it’s not something i think about, it’s just a very intense driven emotionally record both musically and performance wise and that’s what’s so absorbing about it it’s so driven

yeah, that s*** was dark

he shut off from everything took a book of every single songs of nirvana and oasis and learned them all to study them played them all live and tried to create perfect pop songs to come back which led to the green album and their massive hits that you know of like island in the sun which is prolly their biggest hit over france because of laposte using it lol
