Awesome set list. Funny how the feedback parts in “Tired of Sex” doubled as a handy last-minute soundcheck tool, haha

🔊 CLIP OF THE DAY 🔊
!https://youtu.be/Uqi-V1e-x8gOne of my favorite unreleased song I die to hear someday in full and HD, a Rivers Cuomo demo from 1992 that has only played once during a Karl DJ set on one of the Weezer Cruise
Have you ever heard this? @cotton_dockers @Danny sounds so heavenly ... put some headphones on and volume loud tho
Goes to show you how much gems Rivers and the gang are still sleeping on..
That bluesy solo 😫
Wow, no, I’d never heard this! Rivers is kind of like Prince, in that you as a fan have probably never even heard your favorite song they’ve written because it’s in a vault somewhere.

Another song I forgot I like from Make Believe:

Julian Casablancas agrees with you and namedrops This Is Such A Pity as his favorite he mentions in that same interview wanting to collaborate with Rivers to which happened:
Rivers mentioned in some interview at that time that the song is finished, however 10y later it remains unheard
😫😫😫
Truly a crime
🎶 SONG OF THE DAY 🎶
”I’m so low, can’t get under me”
Originally titled just “My Dream Love” the song was intended for probably the most famous scrapped album of the 90s “Songs from the Black Hole”, a rock opera, which is a story for another day lol
Altho every song from that project has been released through Rivers demos takes of it, this is the only song that somehow got through the final stage: whole recording studio with the band and was even released as a b-side for both single and EP of The Good Life, and of course since then is available on the deluxe version of Pinkerton.
In this song character Laurel (performance by musician Rachel Haden from that dog.) who sings here about rejecting her shipmate, Jonas (performed by Rivers) despite being in love with him.
Shout out @cotton_dockers
BONUS
Rivers rehearsing the song backstage by himself on acoustic during a livestream while warming up for a weezer show, he goes for a beautiful fingerstyle technic on it:

🏳️🌈 SONG OF THE DAY 🏳️🌈
Since it’s pride month here’s a song written by Rivers Cuomo for Adam Lambert
red album been in heavy rotation lately
Real ASL what’s your favorite songs from it?
I think The Angel And The One is as good as Only In Dreams in someway, so transcending
Believe it or not it was actually my first weezer album and what made me a stan
I loved so much when I saw it in stores I hesitantly (not knowing the bonus songs) picked the deluxe copy and it was the best decision ever lol! the deluxe songs gets even better! actually gem material right there (Miss Sweeney, The Spider)
Imo it’s a great contrast to Make Believe, it sounds so new, I like that every members of the band has their songs/lead vocals on it, had shake things up you know?
Also the tour looked amazing, every night they gathered together local fans musicians to get on stage to play with them and each brought their instruments
They made some dope show bout it for Yahoo, this is my favorite off of it as the fans surprised them by starting to jam Jamie and the band genuinely just joined and went with it, who else be doing that? actually improvising with their fans a b side from their first album

TGMTEL, Pork and Beans, Dreamin', and Automatic are so good but the whole album i really fw
i hate that mad people disregard a lot of the post pinkerton s*** tbh even tho i did before i gave all of it chance. red album is fr one of their best, s*** sounds so fresh

Red album used to be third spot for me tbh but then White and PD dropped and shook my list (yeah I’m ride or die for PD)
But preach to the choir brother,it’s a constant to fight these pitchforks hipsters that have their minds made up before even listening to anything post Pinkerton, they just follow a prejudice of a cult you know? it’s a bummer
Man I forgot about Dreamin’ need to go back to that one it used to be my favorite off of it! you ever noticed that there’s barely any songs about girls on it? I love the whole creativity behind it, Rivers never gets lazy and always tries stuff
Forgot to mention Pig gets me every time, one of the bands best imo
Funny story: Rivers originally pushed this song to be the lead single! original album was more mellow and included the deluxe cuts but Geffen asked him some more upbeat stuff and so he came with Troublemaker etc
PD mdr sale pedale
mais ftg fdp le mec il se la ramene vec son yung lean allez cache toi
I Am The Greatest
Spike Jonze was supposed to direct a video clip for that I’ll write about their history together someday

💬 QUOTE OF THE DAY 💬
Tom Delonge:
How good is “The Blue Album”?
“The Blue Album” is so good, dude. That “going surfing” song “Surf Wax America” is the most badass thing ever.
Mark Hoppus:
We’re really honored that they wanted to be a part of the tour. I remember one of the very first Blink tours, driving a van around and listening to the Blue Album on cassette and singing along with it and just being huge fans of that band. We’re really stoked to be touring with them.
Mark also ranks the Blue album in his favorite albums of all time list next to Kanye West, Pink Floyd, Beatles, The Cure, Dinosaur Jr., Sonic Youth, Bloc Party and more.
Tom Delonge on stage with weezer, 2008
This one a shout out to @StrictlySyrup
