if it is set up in a way where i monetarily contribute not to my subscription but to buying albums directly i dont see how its a bad idea
exactly we should be able to monthly choose how much of our budget goes to various artist. MORE THAN A PENNY PER STREAM
everything should be free or nothing should be free. Im sure these same people wanna get paid for their jobs tho
If I pay for a subscription I want to fully own some albums by the end of the year based on my listening habits and contributions or how the artist music helped me in my life
there is no reason your subscription should end and you have nothing and artist made PENNIES

yeah lol all this yap about being able to access all the music in the world is irrelevant because nobody f***ing listens to all the music in the world anyways, its an illusion of access
what if the subscription was you were given 25 credits a month. 1 credit equals one album purchase, sent directly to the artist.
would be a huge regression though

Exactly they primarily listen to select artist we do streaming for convenience but should start stacking local files then phase it out and bring back the high of music you OWN DROPPING
Random Twitter post to KTT thread pipeline is forever strong
well this is relevant for once because it affects us all and streaming is DESTROYING MUSIC

well right now it is some tech bro curator getting paid but not any artists lol
a discussion about music ownership when everything is numbers is worthwhile
EVEN IF APPLE SAID
AT THE END OF THE YEAR PICK YOUR MOST LISTENED ALBUM ARTIST AND SONGS AND YOU OWN THOSE THATS MAJOR

itunes and bandcamp still exist dawg
the type of people who liked the post in OP don't give af about owning music either way
those who do shouldn't be using apple music

I agree but PEOPLE DONT USE THEM
i love how this website can spend pages and pages on unfair treatment of artists under current streaming system in other threads and as soon as someone from the outside speaks out against said system in any way your first reaction is to run defense for it. not even course correction just straight shutting down of any thought in that direction
I have a friend who thinks like this but it goes beyond Apple Music. He refuses to pay for any streaming service nor does he buy any physical music.
I remember him telling me his justification one time, it had something to do with like music being so pronounced in public like malls, stores, restaurants, bars, etc. that he doesn't understand why he should have to pay for it when it's so readily available for free. Dumb logic, bizzare stuff!
people will always use apple music man
you arent going to be at a party like "let me bring up bandcamp and itunes"
and people dont want to give to itunes when apple music doesnt pay them properly
they can give artist a larger share from streaming its what we been preaching with apple music, tidal, spotify
the heads of them are BILLIONAIRES WHO HAVE NEVER CREATED A SONG IN MANY CASE
We grew up with Napster/limewire, YouTube, and DatPiff of course we think it should be free lol
You realize car radios were the way most people heard music for decades right.
Ad based just like free Spotify or Youtube now
Okay people born in the 90s never had to pay to listen to their choice of music on demand, that better?

Nobody gave a f*** about a virus
YouTube still let you listen to the song/watch the video for free for however many times you wanted
Mixtapes were a huge source of music at a time
