the problem is a company trying to take control of something that should not be in control of a company. again, verzuz type hits battles were already happening BEFORE the company popped into existence right? we don't need them to enjoy watching two artists have a hits battle.
now that they're here, hits battles have become restricted to swizz beatz and his friends. I think swizz beats is corny as s*** and i think him being in control of this is gross and lame
think abt this. there is no reason we cant have a carti n uzi verzuz. but that will never happen because verzuz isn't for hip hop its for swizz beatz and his friends

It seems like ur missing the whole value of Verzuz. Yes people were doing hit battles before verzuz (and they still can do it independently of verzuz, not like they stop them from doing it) but swizz and timb and the Verzuz brand are the ones that attract the level of artist in rap/rnb/funk/soul to do them. Without verzuz u would not see a dmx v snoop. Jeezy v gucci hit battle. It just wouldnt happen
And like I said earlier if carti and uzi wanted to do a hit battle they can still do it, no one stopping them lol

It seems like ur missing the whole value of Verzuz. Yes people were doing hit battles before verzuz (and they still can do it independently of verzuz, not like they stop them from doing it) but swizz and timb and the Verzuz brand are the ones that attract the level of artist in rap/rnb/funk/soul to do them. What I really don't like is Verzuz as a brand. I think the concept of having two artists compare their hits in a little battle is pretty cool. I think trying to trademark that and then trying to profit off of that is really cringe. I think buying into that company's brand and acting like Verzuz is the s*** is equally as corny. Seeing ppl suck off companies that try n take over s*** that ppl were already doing will always disgust me.

This is one of the reasons why old heads and this generation can't blend together. Cause it's always segregation between eras and generations of fans, and it's also one of the core reasons why rap music is the way it is now.
If rap would get over this issue, we would see an great abundance of hip-hop.
