    I’m not suggesting that either of them aren’t saying anything. One principle point of abstraction in art is that the content is only fully understood by the artist. It makes perfect sense to the artist but the way it’s conveyed is abstract to the person consuming it and they have to give it their own meaning

    My thing is, why is it clear to people that a lot of Franks raps are an example of this but not Travis

    I’ll listen to Frank verse on Purity and Travis verse on Lens back to back and think these guys are very similar in the way they convey their thoughts through rhyme

    meh I just wanted out of body music which I expected with the title ''utopia'' but we didnt get that even after waiting for 5 years

    i can agree. he came back soft around the edges. still an enjoyable album tho.

    If Travis could pull off the rap version of what Frank lyrically does he’d be a much more critically acclaimed artist

    And tbh it’s kinda infuriating he won’t bite the bullet and put together a real ghostwriting team to do that lol

    I’m only really talking about the songs where Frank is rapping and his loosies n stuff. But you could argue as well that the themes that make up his albums are just as broad
