Dont try to portray that you are having fun with your music because the critics will think you dont take it seriously therefore put no good effort in it and then your music cant be good.

Cardi B makes this type of music and she got universal acclaim

If you're a new artist and just having fun with music they love to heap praise on you. Look at Keef. Once you've been around long enough they turn

industrializing the concept of artistic critique means that critics are now less interested in the actual criticism of art and more the survival and growth of their critic business, which means critical thought can be tainted in the name of business growth

    this is a bad thing

Finally somebody put it into f***ing words.

    also theres 4 "critic" reviews 100 90 81 80 that don't even average 93

Today, it is no longer about “making good music”.

Identity politics determines scores before the music is even released. In Megan’s case, you have old white men reviewing a strong black woman who is also opening the album speaking out against an abuser so obviously they aren’t about to write an article being against that especially not in 2020’s social climate.

The music can be great but if the content of the music is not pc it has a chance of being trashed by critics

what the f*** does this even mean

  • Nov 22, 2020

    Depends

Kendrick, Beyoncé, D’Angelo, Frank, etc dropped generational classics and I’m sure didn’t have to pay critics, while Megs label obviously paid critics, or the critics were just sucking her t*** to make themselves look good.

I think it’s p obvious which one is which. And as for those examples you gave, I think 2014 FHD and Rodeo got pretty accurate reviews from critics
