Just gonna throw out my The Cure albums ratings cuz why not:
Disintegration
P***o
Faith
Seventeen Seconds
Head on the Door
Three Imaginary Boys
Bloodflowers
Kiss Me
Wish
The Top (this album is awful)
havent bothered with the others cuz ive heard horrendous things from trusted people.
feel like people should include Japanese Whispers on these rankings tbh. yeah its a compilation but its entirely non-album stuff and is an interesting period from them even if it's not one of my favorites. I'm taking it over The Top for sure

The Top is so f***ing bad man. Its insane
top is the only one i haven't listened to yet, for good reasons too
yeah avoid at all costs
Double Nickels is such a weird, fun album. Hard to revisit tho cuz 40 songs over 77 mins is a bit much
one of those albums where I just throw a bunch of random songs on some times. even though I do listen to the whole thing a lot I feel like it's one of those albums where the order doesn't matter too much. and one of those albums that I'd recommend people to listen sometimes in chunks like that just to get over the length which is a hurdle for some. (another would be Beatles White album)
top is the only one i haven't listened to yet, for good reasons too
its still pretty good i think, and some interesting stuff on there

surprisingly not much filler despite being that many songs on it, i'd only cut like 5 songs
The Top is so f***ing bad man. Its insane
nah still good just not great like the rest
oh damn, didnt even know of the Egyptians existence yeah might be better to get a feel for him more before getting to the folkiest stuff
is it full on psychedelic? after being classic psych fanatic for years i've been slowly easing myself into more neo-psych after disliking a lot of it for some reason
Yeah he's had bands with him at various points and those records usually end up sounding like Soft Boys.
I Often Dream of Trains isn't traditionally psych. It's a singer songwriter record but it's incredibly strange. The songwriting makes you feel like you're tripping and the beautiful way it starts and ends feels like the onset and come down of a psychedelic experience or lucid dream.
nah still good just not great like the rest
Nah, there's just some weird about that album. It feels almost cheesy at points and underdeveloped. 100% a transition album where robert didnt quite know what to do
Double Nickels on the Dime has some great song titles.
Political Song for Michael Jackson to Sing
Do You Want New Wave or Do You Want the Truth?
God Bows to Math
The Roar of the Masses Could Be Farts
Mr. Robot's Holy Orders

true but also I lowkey still feel like Head on the Door is part of that awkward transition for some of the songs. similar strain of creativity
This made me realize these years are missing from the discography that is my music pallet.
I need to listen to some projects from this time period
Thankfully I have recommendations now!
its still pretty good i think, and some interesting stuff on there
