I used to hate all the ppl who said Pokemon peaked in the past but I'm growing up to be like them

I used to love the Gen 5 games but now not so much

Gens 1-4 are the peak

Felt like gen two was the peak of Pokémon creatively and the fact that you could go back and earn the 8 badges from Kanto was crazy. This was pre internet era for the most part so I lost my f***ing s*** when I pulled up on Red in the cave at the end of the game

Between R/S/E and FR/LG I probably logged bout 10000 hours total on those games

Didn't play past gen 4 but it's either crystal or emerald for me

Pokemon 2000 and Gold/Silver/Crystal were the be all end all

almost everyone that caught the main wave in the West fell off with Pokemon the movie 3 or Pokemon 4 Ever

I love Pokemon but I'm starting to think there's not much else they can do with the franchise

It depends on who you ask, some people say gen three, others say which ever generation has the candle and trash bag pokemon.

They need to stop trying to reinvent/soft reboot the series

Gen 3 introduced a whole new wave of Pokemon players.

the way gamefreak took an already flawless game and improved on it with the seasonal expansion, ability to catch way more legendaries, a legit postgame + giratinas distorted realm was legendary

so I'm replaying hgss right now

its only now that I'm appreciating the game...it really was a perfect sequel to the original Red and Blue.

I think you could make that case for pretty much every generation but that's probably the case for most people on this site.
