I’m talking to my homies and we arguing and I say the nba is the hardest to make it in because if you don’t have the genetics there’s no chance and I feel like that’s not the case with like soccer or nfl but what y’all think?

I don’t think most Americans can name a single American soccer player or team tbh

I think it depends on how you look at it. I think the answer is either basketball or soccer.

Basketball because you have to meet a height AND athleticism threshold. And there’s only like 2-3 leagues where you can make good money. (NBA, Euroleague, China).

Soccer because it’s the most played sport, you can be any height and play, but they also have the most leagues where you can play and earn

NFL with the higher rate of injuries.

Basketball. Between the unique genetic makeup required, the high skill ceiling and the lack of slots available per roster on NBA teams, it's a long shot.

What does American knowledge on soccer have to do with the hardest sport to make a career in?

Football isn't that hard because of how many players are in and out the league

Average career length is like 3 years too.

Any of the lesser known ones

Disc golf I thought is usually extremely difficult, but I know a pro who does well with no sponsorships, but it's only because he does a lot of private competitions. You have to know the right people to be in the right group and even then you're not going to be remotely close to famous

In that world you're nothing unless you're a top 10 worldwide player with a company pumping out "merch" with your signature on it. It'll be different 10 years from now

Idk if I’d say it’s huge. The MLS played their championship game yesterday and I didn’t see any of the mainstream sites or pages post about it

There’s over 4 million registered players and over 9k clubs across all leagues with MLS stadiums packing out 65k+ regularly, soccer is as big as ever now

9k clubs and 65k stadium attendance is going overboard. MLS attendance is probably closer to like 25k average.

Niggas only care about the league when Messi is playing

MMA is relatively easy in terms of 'making it' because there isn't decades of structured leagues and regulations built behind it.

But yes the grind probably sucks way more

Haha that’s true, probably not as many people lining up to do it as like basketball or soccer

Idk much about it but with some sports like tennis you have to know that’s what you want to do from a very young age otherwise coaches don’t take you on after a certain age

I think gymnastics and ice skating are similar?
