There’s over 4 million registered players and over 9k clubs across all leagues with MLS stadiums packing out 65k+ regularly, soccer is as big as ever now
I'm in LA and there was 0 noise about LAFC and the MLS Cup. Most people here couldn't name one player on the team either

I guess you musta missed the 85k people at the Rose bowl to watch 2 LA teams lol
I’m talking to my homies and we arguing and I say the nba is the hardest to make it in because if you don’t have the genetics there’s no chance and I feel like that’s not the case with like soccer or nfl but what y’all think?
Golf tbh
unless you grow up rich, you have no chance
I meant football as in soccer haha
I always thought it Fùtbol instead of football

There's so many people in LA that 85k is just a drop in the bucket lol. The vast majority of people here do not care about MLS. There was so much noise and hype in the summer when Barcelona came to play in LA it was all over the city. I have yet to see anything about the MLS cup lol.

Guess it’s just not big in your circles a lot of my customers talk to me about MLS and are season ticket holders. I’m happy to see any soccer love
since everyone mentioned the usuals imma bring up MotoGP. it's pretty tough because you basically have to be born in specific regions of the world and into a relatively wealthy family as well as have the talent for it
Most of the champs from the past few decades have been Europeans from like 3 specific regions of 2 countries lmao
theres only like 2 dozens grid spots as well if we're bringing that up, puts most others sports (non motorsports) to shame with how few people compete in the top division
don't know about some of the other sports but the nba gotta be top 3. only 450 something spots, and being tall isn't enough unless you're a 7 footer. you could be a beast in d2 or d3 and play against a d1 nigga and get smoked, and that d1 nigga might be euroleague or benchwarmer level at best
f1 another one because you gotta be beyond loaded with money to have a chance, and it's only 20 spots so you gotta wait till someone retires or loses their seat

Ask random people in LA to name a current LAFC or LA Galaxy player i'd bet anything 99% of the them couldn't. LA Galaxy has won the most MLS cups but that's something no one knows or even cares about here lol.
I’d say automotive racing , probably because it’s a ridiculously competitive, difficult and dangerous sport and running your own private race team is eye watering expensive.
Basketball. Between the unique genetic makeup required, the high skill ceiling and the lack of slots available per roster on NBA teams, it's a long shot.
It gotta be basketball

Good to know
Always imagined it was boxing or mma. Getting hit in the face for a living gotta suck
Oooo good point
endurance racing in the 80s and 90s required a near superhuman level of driving skill, reaction time and grit, not to mention there was a very real chance any race could be your last. on top of all that, your team needed the gdp of a small country to be competitive.
group b rally courses were often held on public roads and cars were sometimes inches away from sliding off cliffs, while group c was frequently hitting 220+ mph at le mans. both championships got so dangerous that they were cancelled in 1986 and 1993 respectively.

Well are we talking professional or the most elite level. Because NBA not the only professional basketball league
The genetic one goes both ways because yea if you a shorty you got no chance but on the other hand if you really a massive f***er that does improve you chances alot and the skill barrier arguably not as high as other sports if you have it (even if you do have to be really good and athletic to make a serious impact)
It's true height helps your chances in a lot of sports tho. That's why some would say UFC because they have weight classes and s*** and it's 1 v 1 too

mma lowkey one of the easiest some of these guys in the ufc started in their 20’s
