I stopped checking for new artists and music when streaming starting taking off. The barrier-to-entry in rap is on the floor -- anyone and everyone can rap and produce and put out their music, which is great in it's own right, but it ends up being a dumpster-diving effort to find anything good.

Now, I just find new s*** by chance. If I happen to hear something dope on the radio, or a car passing by, or just playing in the background somewhere, I'll try to find it. Otherwise, I'm not putting in the effort

im as old as homeboy, im just saying at a certain point in life ppl stop liking new things, its biology. his music is great if u have the ability to start liking something new. i feel like most ppl hate on his music cause of reviewers and just group-thinking

Drake, Cole, Kendrick obvi will show is when their albums come out. Tyler (although i didn’t love igor), Kanye if he stops this Christian s***, ASAP rocky will be trying hard this go around since testing was kinda a dud. Just to name a few

Not many individual sounds in younger class. They all doing the same thing for most part.

Regardless of your opinion they are still making high quality music and caring about the art form

Now in 2020 its almost unrecognizable to me, and part of that is just being an old fart.

The other part is that man this is s*** f***ing sucks. I just don't like the way they flow and sound anymore. Maybe its related to what 2 chainz said about how trap beats just have very different pockets.

And don't tell me to go search for the great music- the great s*** is supposed to bubble up to the top no matter what. That's how its always been. The links I get are always to some ok s*** that sounds real polished but is otherwise forgettable.
