I just listen to good music. Stopped caring bout the stigma behind the artists/genre if I like the song I'm listening to it.
Im not searching for artists like I used to. The last batch of newer artists I would say I became a fan of early are Mavi and Pop Smoke. Also @DropDeadGorgeous
Its the overstaturated trap beats I think. Ill still listen to new albums from people im already a fan of though

That’s why the use of UK drill beats by Pop and other NY artists are a breath of fresh air imo, in the midst of the same old trap

Looks like your paying attention to all the negatives in mainstream rap. Of course it’s going to be a lot of mid in mainstream mixed with a few good artist at this time. The games stagnant.. just relax until about 2 years
im as old as homeboy, im just saying at a certain point in life ppl stop liking new things, its biology. his music is great if u have the ability to start liking something new. i feel like most ppl hate on his music cause of reviewers and just group-thinking
Or.. he’s just not that good and that’s in part due to the fact he moved away from the sound he created with burberry perry that got him poppin in the first place, for some more generic music that is done at a lesser quality than his contemporaries.

Yeah it was sick, I enjoy UK drill too but a lot of them seem to just drop a single early and its ages before they have an actual project
Also seems like new artists want to hop on a wave rather than just be different. 2013 era guys all seemed to want to do their own thing to seperate themselves, but then again maybe im just forgetting all the ones that didnt make it.
The trap sound defines this era just like Boom Bap did during the 90s, just a matter of time before people want to evolve I suppose. The difference is I think hip hop transitioned out of boom bap because of technological evolution
