  • So I have a couple of friends whom support trump (or at least did, there not acting like QAnon & accepting defeat) but like they all work in various construction jobs & ive noticed like way more construction workers who are like anti mask & All lives matter. Like I just don’t get it, wouldn’t construction workers be against big business moves from Republicans?

Because they aren’t educated. Harsh but true reality, and we have to be honest about it.

The correlation between being educated and voting Trump is patent.

Edit: white and uneducated is the key mix of a Trump voter

Because people who get s***ty degrees s*** on them and Trump defends them.

I HAV DEGREE IN POLITICAL SCIENCE AND UHH FACTORY WORKER DUMB

Also because Dems have feigned the support of factory workers.

Statistically people most likely to vote for Trump are people with relatively high income (worried about higher taxes) but lower levels of education

this is such a dumb generalization that doesn't even take into account unionized workers. you're taking an anecdote of some laborers you know and applying it to the whole industry.

the majority of manual laborers actually probably vote Democrat, especially in inner cities.

People with degrees possess higher critical thinking skills and can more easily discern bullshit and political posturing. Especially from a fake populist who was born with a silver-spoon in his mouth and was the embodiment of gaudy opulence, wealth and greed who apparently represents and connects to the ordinary working people. The dude had a gold toilet ffs.

I'm glad you brought this up. My dad is a union worker and I remember in 2004, 2008 and 2012 they would always hold rallies and support the Democratic candidate. In 2016 and 2020 that stopped. It seems like, at least around where I live, despite the obvious rift between the GOP and unions, Trump was able to break through that in some way. Just the other day my dad was telling me about how seemingly everyone he worked with was going to vote for Trump.

The same people are open to pandering bullshit that never realizes any result. Yes, he personifies the upper class a******s, but the difference is he defended the factory workers publicly. Whereas Dems have been saying 1) we're going to remove your jobs 2) you're stupid.

It's not just FACTORY WORKER DUM!!!11. That's a plebeian overgeneralization.

My source: im a B2B business owner that works with factories.

Democrats were the party of the working class 20 years ago. Now they are the party of lib-left purple haired folks who hate simple folks. It's not complicated to see.

Same with the working class in the UK. All shifted to Tory because of Brexit and Boris.
