The same people are open to pandering bullshit that never realizes any result. Yes, he personifies the upper class a******s, but the difference is he defended the factory workers publicly. Whereas Dems have been saying 1) we're going to remove your jobs 2) you're stupid.

It's not just FACTORY WORKER DUM!!!11. That's a plebeian overgeneralization.

My source: im a B2B business owner that works with factories.

LOLOLOL. That's inconsistent with the Democrat media rhetoric and cancel culture that this side glorifies.

I never said that was right of him to say lol

I didn’t even support joe till he got nominee, I liked Bernie/tulsi tabard/Andrew yang more lol

Yang 2024 imo. However, this is obvious manipulation of us, the people. Don't believe twitter

Also my point is that "omg joe said that months ago" =/= "OMG TRUMP SAID THIS 5 years ago"

I'm glad you brought this up. My dad is a union worker and I remember in 2004, 2008 and 2012 they would always hold rallies and support the Democratic candidate. In 2016 and 2020 that stopped. It seems like, at least around where I live, despite the obvious rift between the GOP and unions, Trump was able to break through that in some way. Just the other day my dad was telling me about how seemingly everyone he worked with was going to vote for Trump.

op is trying to have some nebulous claim that a majority of construction workers are right-wingers. the fact is that they'll always follow a populist candidate, it doesn't matter whether or not they're right-wing or left-wing.

it's why Bernie polled so well compared to Clinton in areas that have a heavy union/manual labor presence and why Trump also had the same effect.

Clinton and Biden have the appearance that they don't give a s*** about manual laborers (which, they really don't). Trump, while also not giving a s*** about manual laborers, has a facade that he does.

Uneducated white voters are Trump’s main demographic though.

construction workers are not all uneducated nor white.

Democrats were the party of the working class 20 years ago. Now they are the party of lib-left purple haired folks who hate simple folks. It's not complicated to see.

I would say the purple haired liberal idea is also a gross overgeneralisation. Works both ways. There’s more nuance to this

However, it is clear that uneducated white voters represent the overwhelming majority of Trump’s base. And when these people are pressed on why they vote for Trump, their reasoning is usually wanting to say the least. Trump’s policies and the GOP in general are antithetical to the interests of ordinary people. But those without education tend to not have a good grasp of the issues. Trump represented something easily digestible for them. It’s easy to outwardly defend factory workers while, at the same time, increasing the intensity of a system that keeps them impoverished with s***ty wages, precarious labour and loss of benefits over time.

That is true, maybe uneducated is the wrong term but college educations aren’t required

Yeah, definitely true that is has been easily digestible for them. True, my overgeneralization is as poor as OP's. The issue is the overgeneralization of each individual issue of the candidates.

    OMG TRUMP BAD
    OMG BIDEN BAD

Everyone wants the same thing. I'm personally tired of the obvious media bias and the clear problems happening during the election that are ignored by the same people who cried about Russia.

It's obvious the media is to blame.

    Nope. You’re right.

I lost the main thread of discussion and was mainly just talking about why uneducated white voters overwhelmingly vote Trump.

Yes they are. And if they aren’t, they’re usually uneducated Hispanics. Now look at how Trump did with hispanics this election

populism isn't by a person-by-person basis. populists just base themselves around being "the voice of the people".
