What’s stopping Kanye from just making his own brand from scratch? Ain’t that the whole reason he said he bought those factories in Wyoming?

If Drake could get OVO poppin and Tyler could get Golf poppin you’re telling me Kanye can’t make his own brand?

Stealing designs of your flagship shoes and making knockoffs for cheaper is literally what sneaker companies do.

You can’t do business with shoe companies and then get mad when they do shoe company things

Who wearing OVO merch outside of Drake Stans? Maybe old rich guys that are tryna be cool, but I've legit never seen a non-Drake stan wearing OVO clothing.

As for Golf Wang, that is more eclectic style pieces. Again I'd say more people are stans of Tyler himself than the actual pieces he drops, but that has definitely been shifting in the last 1-2 years.

    Neither are comparable.

what adidas is doing is probably legal, ye and op are delusional for thinking those billionaire execs were gonna treat him kindly or ReSpECt him for REvIvIng AdIdAs, lmao capitalism doesn't work like that

Adidas is looking out for their bottom line first and foremost and like u said, if ye has a problem with that he has to sue (probably has no grounds and even if he does can get destroyed in court by Adidas' lawyers)

most people, myself included, don't feel sorry for ye since he was eager to brag about and prop up white billionaires for giving him crumbs; whatever grievance he has with adidas is not our business and is not some movement regular folk need to rally behind.

I ain't even in the fashion world like that anymore but the closest comparison I can think of for all the "why doesn't Ye just go fully independent?" people, I'd say look at Off-White. As big as it was/is at it's peak, it's still not on the scale of Yzy. That would take another 40-50 years to grow the brand that big independently, so it could become a fashion house comparable to the Gucci's, LVs, Balenciaga etc.

Who cares? Both pull in millions of dollars and have locations worldwide. Doesn't matter what you personally say, point is that they are independent brands that didn't need to partner with a larger brand.

In layman terms, why should he start from the mud, when he has proven time and time again that when given the opportunity, his products move units?

If you know I can move 10 keys of coke, why would you have me nickle & diming on the corner?

Well first, Ye has arguably been the sole reason, or at least a very big part of the reason adidas bottom line has increased over the last 4-5 years as much as it has. So with that alone I'd think they would want to afford him some level of respect.

Secondly whether you like Kanye or not, from my perspective him airing out his grievances with these corporations is just pulling back the curtain for everyone to see. If they're still jerking Ye around at the level he's at, then to me that should be everyone else look at their deals, and worth who are in a similar position, but probably on a much smaller scale.

Independent brands that aren't up to the level that yeezy is, which is what he wants. He already tried the independent thing before and failed which is why he changed his perspective on it.

Because this is the same man who's always harping on ownership but he talks the talk and doesn't walk the walk.

Instead of creating and owning his own s*** independently , he partners with the same white people he b****es about, and to this day he still doing it, except its getting more obnoxious cause he wants to post peoples faces and stuff to his fan base.

yeah y'all funny asl with this "they should respect him" bs
this is how the wheels of capitalism move lmao

ye is a music artist first right, well look at how the industry treated beloved musicians like MJ and Prince despite them making their labels billions, they still profit off of them in death, shamelessly

their bottom line will always be making profit, that's what they're decision making will be influenced by "what makes Adidas money"

maybe they see making money off of knock offs as a better investment than just focusing on original yeezys ( wake up call for ye stans: most companies accross different industries will profit off of their knock-offs, this isn't new nor a slight to kanye west. simply the progression of dealing with such a conglomerate)

Im not for this type of business model but that's the reality of the situation, watching ye act like a victim over the consequences of dealing with a system he endorses/brags about leave me apathetic.

secondly, him "exposing" adidas isn't gonna do s*** to their business, adidas has been accused of far worse with ye being silent and continuing to do business with them. Unless you've been living under a rock, you knew Adidas isnt the multi-billion dollar company to go to for "respect" (especially not as a black man lmao)

    1) accused of using sweatshops

    2) accused of failing to adress racism in the workplace

Adidas isn't supposed to respect ye, they're supposed to sell shoes and sportswear, that's it.

I thought ye wanted people to boycott adidas over this (I could be wrong but pdiddy announced he's boycotting adidas over the ye dispute so maybe there's how I get the idea of ye wanting people to rally behind him)

businessmen usually deal with business issues behind closed doors not social media.

So yall just accept corporate meddling with creatives like it's cool? "Adidas is looking out for their bottom line" If they were being smart, they would keep their most valuable asset happy. Kanye ain't the type of nigga to just shut up and take a check. He fought for his creative control and I think that's admirable. It represents a lot for black creators. Yall complained that he was crying and that he should sue while he actually got the knock offs deleted and Adidas is bending to his will. Yall won't give no credit tho
