So what's gonna happen when a earthquake, mass shooting, or big ass accident happens lmao

    Same s*** as normal?

Just take the individuals to a clinic or to somebody who wants to do surgery/provide health care

Hospitals can become too full and not accept any patients so what do u do in that situation? (our current reality, pre abolishment)

so mini hospitals would pop up...

benefits of hospitals would be consolidation of resources and multiple doctors who specialize in different things

    not a mini hospital lol

its not ran by the government, its ran by the people

Do you know how expensive this would be

A freelance surgeon’s day rate is probably in the thousands

if practicing medicine was less restricted cost would go down

I mean with the abolishment of hospitals im sure more than enough people would step up to perform surgeries

I could see myself pursuing a career as a surgeon if hospitals were abolished

Worst come to worst you import some surgeons from other countries and give them housing/a sign on bonus etc

You’d need to offset this with decentralising the classist education system no? Is #FreeEducation the logical next step?

I mean we’re not abolishing medical care lol

mom and pop clinics and freelance surgeons would be the new norm

Freelance surgeons is one of the dumbest things I've heard. It would cost higher to get operated and no surgeon can afford expensive medical equipment, some of which can cost millions for certain operations and this would promote elitism even more where a doctor from richer family would open up a better clinic with great equipment.

The cost of surgery would be minimal if the cost of becoming a surgeon wasnt so expensive

remove hospitals, employ a self taught/freelance surgeon and doctor regime and we will accomplish the following

    Lower cost of surgery
Government isnt controlling our health care
Lower cost of medicine and treatments
Cancer rates would go down (this is a personal anecdote so I could be wrong)

The pros are outweighing the cons as far as freelance med care/non government mandated health care

    This would be impossible actually

    We haven’t decentralised medical boards

This is like practicing Health & Safety advisory in a nuclear environment without formal qualifications like a basic IOSH. Performing critical engineering without AP status. You wouldn’t be allowed to. Governments still regulate private entities

    What a bad b****

OP I am in the process of applying for medical school so this thread has really opened my eyes. With the push for the abolition of hospitals and clinical systems, do I really want to put myself in hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt to possibly not have solid employment at the end of the tunnel? Nuh uh, not I. God bless you for this startling development.
