Better for rap music tho. Bc you need a lot of real life experiences to tell great stories. Nobody wanna hear an album about sliding in hoes' DM's or posting on KTT.

I don’t think anyone spent their entire life on the internet bro. I been in love with the internet since I found it but had and have real experiences.

Are you sure that you're not just trying to be a contrarian? If so then I respect it.. but personally, all the hip hop heads that I talk to love both Kendrick and Biggie.. and if I check what the OG legends have to say, like Ice Cube, Common (off the top of my head) and many others, then they love Kendrick and consider him a GOAT too..

Nah i grew up in LA i was a mad stan and have nothing but respect for Kendrick

Everybody kinda outgrew his s*** or disconnected from him though

People recognize his greatness but i dont feel like him and biggie share a crowd. If I play biggie people still feel it but since like Butterfly most people I know been off Kendrick except for some moments like DNA or Humble

Back when Kendrick was on the come up tho I remember that a lot of ppl who already switched up on him were actually rooting for him..

Oh sorry if I made it sound personal, certainly not what I meant and I was just trying to make a funny remark about how rap generally doesn't work when it's not about real life s***.

Rapping about Internet s*** always comes off as corny or boring.

I don’t doubt you or anyone in this day and age have had real life experiences. The point of the matter is, those lyrical guys spent almost two decades harnessing their craft and not subject to shortening their attention spans with social media or video games. They had to practice for years while these new guys can watch others on social media and imitate a formula.

Ah okay I see what you and Goo are saying. I don't know ive made music for years but when it comes to ''perfecting a craft'' I think motive and subject matter is always number one. I can get with songs that have little meaning behind them but for the most part I think subject and relatability will always be the main selling point for artists.

I feel like with the direction we’re going, by 2030 hip hop will transition into a more instrumental experimental sound with light lyrical content. A verse here and there but the producer will come to forefront

What do you consider internet rap

I don't have any examples off top atm but even when Drake raps about the 'gram I always feel like I just can't care less lol.

All the rap that ppl love is about s*** that actually happens irl.

The most successful example of an "indoors" rap album that I can think of is IDLSIDGO, but Earl isn't really a nerd and he still has stories about being on tour and other real life s*** like that on the album.
