Stolen from the Yeat stage performance sucks thread

Y’all have to take new artists “areas of improvement” as just that.. like Yeat musically is in 2024, so he needs to work on his stage presence?

    Nothing wrong that

Artist development used to be a thing, and I wish more emphasis was placed on it to assist the artists in their overall growth

But like, this tour is a part of his artist development?

He decided to forego a lot of festivals so he could establish his live skills in smaller venues

we don’t need artist development bc a random suburban mf like yeat can make small changes to WLR’s sound, find producer making those types of beats and now “musically he’s in 2024” - you, so why would a label waste money on artist development when he’s likely gonna be fine or at least recoup what they’ve put in him

But this is what I’ve been saying. People are expecting these artists who are 19-20-21 to come out the gate making some god tier s*** which just isn’t realistic

Compare Carti in 2016 to now. The reason people were so invested in him was that even though his music was relatively conventional, it had POTENTIAL. People want immediate returns when sometimes it takes 3,4,5 years to see an artist grow out of their influences and into their own

Just sit back and enjoy the ride

WLR has like 6 songs where he screams and then some regular ass Carti songs. Yeat is way closer to Thug and Future in his vocal style. He's just working in the same production wave. He literally cooked this sound up with those producers. Carti doesn't own their beats

The thing is that when the goats came outs it was in an era where their most early works weren’t up to see. People didn’t think Kanye was gonna be the greatest when he was doing freestyles in 96, or when Drake was releasing music in 2005/6. It was after their breakouts

The internets completely changed the way artists are exposed and we have to account for it
