Now if you want to say Yeat copied Carti- by copying Thugger as well... Yep.

Honestly when did we let people decide Carti pushed the bar half as far as Thug. Delusions

Carti narrative is pushed by kids who started listening to rap seriously in 2017/18. So they don’t really know what people like thug and future did.

To them he created all of this s*** and people like Yeat his son

    Who is implying this?

Everyone knows Thug was the last pioneer to innovate and usher in a new wave/sound

    2013-2014 was a long ass time ago, it’s 2022

    Wtf?

They could just be abbreviating the timeline for the sake of the discussion

But this all starts with Thug…

Oh in the case of KTT it’s all about production lol. They’ll always gravitate towards who has the weirdest edgy production.

Vocals, cadence, flow etc all that is secondary. So once they hear the production it’s automatically attributed to Carti.

they saying yeat retooled wlr on ktt2

    im sick

we don’t need artist development bc a random suburban mf like yeat can make small changes to WLR’s sound, find producer making those types of beats and now “musically he’s in 2024” - you, so why would a label waste money on artist development when he’s likely gonna be fine or at least recoup what they’ve put in him

But this is what I’ve been saying. People are expecting these artists who are 19-20-21 to come out the gate making some god tier s*** which just isn’t realistic

Compare Carti in 2016 to now. The reason people were so invested in him was that even though his music was relatively conventional, it had POTENTIAL. People want immediate returns when sometimes it takes 3,4,5 years to see an artist grow out of their influences and into their own

Just sit back and enjoy the ride

I'd still debate Carti's older music is better than his newer music

People are STILL trying to catch up to 2014-2017 Carti and fail miserable.

I agree bro but not like Thug

The impact and influence in thug’s range is wild from Lil Baby down to Sahbabii

It spans just under a decade and counting

Carti is definitely influential in his own right but it pales in comparison to Young Thug lol

Not now, yeah. But the new wave is a bunch of Carti clones. I see no reason to believe him and Travis won’t get to that level.

I seen SoundCloud era Carti opening for ASAP and for sure he was not the same performer he is now

Artist need to learn on they way just like anybody else lol

Travis influence ain’t on Thug level

I’m not doubting your prediction, it could very well happen but like a few posters earlier, Carti was lightly influenced by Young Thug (among others, E.g., ASAP Rocky, Ian Connor)

From adopting the slime language in ad-libs and even using Thug flows.. I can’t say the same about Thug being influenced by Carti at all.

Just like Thug can’t reach Wayne level of influence. Even Carti artist like Ken Carson was hanging around thug back in 2017 before they knew Carti lol.

It won’t ever reach thug status esp since most of his influence is based on production and he doesn’t make beats.

Yes, Carti popularized the production on WLR. Trippie Redd also did a rage album. Neither Carti nor Yeat are producers and their vocal stylings are not closer together than Yeat's and Future/Thug's. All of these things are true.

Somebody posted a clip of yeat doing thugger harambe voice ITT

He sounds like thug and future vocally because he’s a suburban white boy cosplaying an Atlanta accent. But the fact is he switched his entire musical identity after WLR dropped. Both can be true
