And Yeat dropping next level s***

    It is what it is

I mean nobody with ears can deny that he’s fire but the whole “he’s musically in 2024” “he’s gonna lead the decade in quality and influence” takes feel a little too extreme and giving dude an premature crowning

I thought Gotit was carrying the torch with an evolved “Thug sound” in 2018

But then the music got stagnant around the pandemic

Kayo, Nudy, Yeat.. it’s not just yeat

The thing is that when the goats came outs it was in an era where their most early works weren’t up to see. People didn’t think Kanye was gonna be the greatest when he was doing freestyles in 96, or when Drake was releasing music in 2005/6. It was after their breakouts

The internets completely changed the way artists are exposed and we have to account for it

Everybody knew nas was gonna be that nigga in ‘91 bro lol. Had a great feature at 16.

It’s not. It would’ve been forward 2-3 years ago. Now it’s just the current type beat for that subgenre of rap lol

I think your're just blinded by fandom/hype rn

How can it be too early to say anything negative or critcal like his performance on stage is ass, or that he has a long ways to go to even level up and evolve to that next level yet it's just the right time to make statements like "he will lay the blueprint for the next 8 years in music and also no one comes close to how good he is and everyone else peaked and fell off they're just not yeat."

it's also not really that forward like ur saying it's pretty time appropriate if anything

WLR has like 6 songs where he screams and then some regular ass Carti songs. Yeat is way closer to Thug and Future in his vocal style. He's just working in the same production wave. He literally cooked this sound up with those producers. Carti doesn't own their beats

Hes only "working in the same production wave" because of Carti. Listen to his music before and after WLR. Its almost like an entirely different artist.

Carti was prematurely crowned as “HipHops’s restless prince in complex magazine

And that was two years before his self titled

And now he’s one of the best rappers on the planet

Yes, Carti popularized the production on WLR. Trippie Redd also did a rage album. Neither Carti nor Yeat are producers and their vocal stylings are not closer together than Yeat's and Future/Thug's. All of these things are true.

Somebody posted a clip of yeat doing thugger harambe voice ITT
