Man I'm not saying that at all
I was listening to all the s*** you listed. What I mean is i was also listening to s*** back then that I wouldn't listen to as an adult. Like a lot of kids in high school

It’s sad because it’s like they want to have those same quality musical moments from new artists today but the industry brainwashes each other into thinking that type of s*** wouldn’t work
and older people are insecure about being washed so you have things like the drake FATD debate where instinctively you think the youth likes low effort trendy music so that must be the priority
Exactly.
I think people overlook that some of the biggest critiques of Drake albums like CLB and FATD are not necessarily dustheads listening to Mobb Deep but older Drake fans who hold him to a higher standard based on his 09-15 output.
But people in general see numbers alone as "winning" so many people will d***ride anything their fave artist drops as long as it does numbers. I remember when some Ye stans were bringing up how well JIK sold.
