Damn i reslly thought we were past this point, but the brand new "shit wasnt as good as when i was in high school" dudes juss gunna keep poppin up
I was at a family event and "Ten Crack Commandments" by Biggie played on a stereo and I swear....the Zoomers in my fam rapped every bar word for word lol.
Edit: Wait is being born in 96 Millennials or Gen Z cause I'm curious to see where I belong.
you’re a zillennial. it also depends on if you have siblings or not. i find that if you’re on the cusp and if you have older siblings you identify more with Gen Z and if you are the oldest one you identify more with millennials
They said the same thing to me when I was in high school blasting Wayne, Waka, and Gucci
I'm not hanging with high schoolers but they're just probably working with whatever is hot
Yeah Nettspend isn't as good as Kendrick, but no one is as good as him so I can't blame the youngins
Who?
We can't be saying this s*** when we were out here listening to Lil B
Lil B actually was versatile asf
Also this
People will say “foh grandpa” but the actual kids born in the 2000’s miss the 90’s-2000’s quality of music and pop culture/fashion/media moments lol
True my lil sis n her friends dress like earlier 2000-2010s scene/emo kids instead of embracing w.e the equivalent is in this era 😂
your era is over grandpa step aside

Exactly in fact I’d argue our s*** was worse
I find it funny how seemingly offended people are towards anyone liking anything that could at all be considered “experimental” or “artsy”, not even just in music but in film as well.
Artists and films that they aren’t immediately familiar with and the mere mentioning of them (especially as a fav) inspires this degree of unprovoked backlash, instead of curiosity to expand one’s horizons and tastes.
Always feel like it comes from a place of insecurity, like the realization that they don’t actually take the form all that seriously, it’s just a socialization mechanism, online water cooler s***.

i skim the TV & films sxn and noticed that this attitude is in there just like how it is in music sxn
it’s over for artcels tbh
I remember one guy playing Ill Mind of Hopsin tracks in one of my classes. High schoolers have always had bad taste in music.

It’s like a meme on Twitter whenever LetterBox does their “Four Favorites” interviews with actors and directors.
Like they’ll pick a Kurosawa or Bresson movie and there’ll be reams of replies claiming they’re full of s*** or just empty flexing to seem like intellectuals.
High Schoolers/teenagers are mostly lame and looking for guidance/idols to copy. Their gonna most like whatevers taking over the zeitgeist at the time. If you have any real taste in HS, your more then likely a geek
