To add to this aswell:
The whites brought homophobia to the countries they colonized so them talking s*** about countries they colonized where homophobia is a big issue has always been funny to me
We are tho
We really aren't, just like how we're not the kings of anything else either Not to say we don't have an issue with both but black people who only live and be around black people then go around likeminded people of other races, forming a confirmation bias because of it, not because we are more xyz, just that they hang around people who are less xyz and not the wider pool of that race, say s*** like this.
US country predominantly ran by whites & gay marriage wasn’t legal until fairly recently tho
Which the white people eventually made legal in most states, if not some
it's not white peoples fault people are homophobic
being black also doesnt determine whether you will be homophobic, lets address the problem and not point fingers
Which the white people eventually made legal in most states, if not some
to say historically blacks or other races are more homophobic is wrong
Which the white people eventually made legal in most states, if not some
but the stonewall riots led by black lgbt tho
that opened the path for gay acceptance in general
white lgbt would’ve continued enjoying the privilege that comes with being white too and so many of them are racist which is mad

you just typed what I didn't have the patience to tbh
Do you think white trans people are just magically born in tolerant cities or some s***?
Trans people are already more likely to be homeless/unsheltered because of discrimination. It’s not like these people have the means to just move as they please. The people being affected are typically young, broke and already victimized in one way or another.
They move away when they go to college

I love black people but we’re mad homophobic
A black kid coming out to their parent and them being ”supportive” and ”accepting” baffles me. Maybe in Atlanta its different because its like the gay capital idk
But if you’re from NY you better not come out, your life is gonna be a living hell

I'm not saying that we don't have a homophobia problem, it's just overstated when talking comparatively with other races. Because what you're speaking of is not just specific to the black kid in NY but also the white kid in the middle of nowhere in Arkansas or a hispanic kid in houston, etc

That’s also true for hispanics, Muslims, and even some East Asian countries tbh
The thread alone is proof that Black people aren’t the most homophobic.
When will you see middle easterns or hispanics discussing or acknowledging the homophobia within they’re own community?
At least some in the black community are willing to have that conversation.
How can you simultaneously even say that black people are the most homophobic when Atlanta (the black capital of the US) also has one of the most extensive gay communities in America?
Now, what are the chances of Nashville, Tennessee or El Paso, Texas ever having a gay community as extensive as Atlanta’s?

People hear a street rapper say some homophobic s*** and project it onto all black people.
Ngl tho a lot of niggas in elementary/middle school was on some “I don’t f*** w that gay s***” type of timing but they grow out of it.
Now some Caribbean and African, and African American parents/grandparents is a different story

other groups have this same conversation too about homophobia
it's not a racial thing about who's more homophobic or not
it's a much larger issue than that, having to do with religion/colonization, etc.

So now ur assuming other households dont have this conversation?
Not surprised more braindead takes from you
Did we really just let OP project a made up narrative onto the ecosystem and we just accepted it because black people so happen to be homophobic? Like we all know we’ve never heard this sentiment before this thread yet it went unquestioned for four pages
Odd
lol many countries were already homophobic. while homophobia was strong in europe, the majority of homophobic norms pre existed. cant blame everything on the past even if some things can be. youre talking about india and the third gender sure but not every colony was india, many were already homophobic
Ofcourse it’s not a global thing for every f***ing country they colonized
But all over north, south and east africa homosexuality was normal in different cultures. Colonizers changed this with strict anti-gay laws over centuries. Those laws have had a lot of effect. You can’t deny that. Cultures in which being gay was normal turned homophobic BECAUSE of those anti-gay laws. And yes there were other cultures like in east africa which were already homophobic.
I’m not here to count how many cultures were affected by the anti-gay laws. But it’s enough to make me say that white colonizers are a huge part of homophobia in south asian and alot of african cultures.
thought y'all hated each other at sum epic rate
We do but love trumps hate plus my mom isn’t full Ethiopian
