yeah when it gets large i know it can get sketchy, I know that's one of the major criticisms of migros for example

i think co-ops are an interesting concept and definitely worth exploring. but i am skeptical of how they work with bigger scales. their inability to sell equity to outside investors makes them a non-palatable option for those in capital intensive industries; which is why we'll probably never see an automobile manufacturer be a co-op. hell, correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't mondragon outsource some of their labor to workers not in the co-op to get where they're at?

lmfao i’ve thought about this before, but i view caping for small businesses the same as I do tipping. by doing so you’re engaging in some systemic f***ery that definitely sucks in some ways, but you’re also just helping your fellow human get by out here
which is never a bad thingnot really the same thing
when you tip, yes, it is a f***ed up system, but it does, or at least should go right into the exploited workers pockets. shopping at small businesses doesn't really do anything to help the workers there directly
