I mean Ye produced Cudi, he signed him, he did feats with him, he had him featured on all his albums since then, he did a f***ing whole ass album with him, he goes to his shows, comes on stage, brought him to sing Heartless for the anniversary show of the 808s album.

And you have the audacity to do this thread and compare the situation with Drake? does he put THAT energy???

Cudi is only credited on 2 songs

Nevermind apparently Ye did the majority of the writting on his songs with Jeff.

    So nah it's his album

Whats really wild is giving either of them the majority of credit shows how little just plain songwriters get.

Jeff Bhasker not only wrote on most of 808s with Ye but unlike Cudi and Hudson has made hits as big as 808s consistently since for other artist.

It's wild that either Cudi or Hudson get credit over him when Ye x Bhasker did more of the album together then either of those two.

Cudi is only on like two songs one of which he was a feature. Cudi being the main mind behind 808s is casual talk or people who just hate Kanye

We also not listing every song writer or producer right OP? Every album is done by multiple people. Not only Cudi was involved w that album, but you dont care bout those others. Not only The Weeknd was involved either, but others only care bout him. It's cause theyre big artists and people like to trash Ye or Drake that way

And you try to do it too coz you stan Drake

Because cudi only wrote on like 3 songs on there? That album is more a Kanye and Jeff Bhasker production. It was inspired by 80s new wave. Listen to the Hurting by tears for fears. That album was a direct influence on 808s. I like Cudi but 808s doesn’t sound like his work.

But if you reread my other post I said people give credit in order of fame and Hudson doesn't get credit cause he's in the grand scheme a nobody.

My comparison isn't based off job description but notoriety.

To the average person Hudson is about as famous as Jeff is so hell never get credit like Cudi who has his own legacy.

It's an unfortunate reality cause of Niggas like OP

I’ve never nerd out on this kind of things so I can’t speculate I ain’t gonna talk about what I don’t know but from what I hear I’ll tell you that the humming on the end of Heartless is some real Cudi stuff, but other than that!?? it’s more upbeat and high pitch than his style, I don’t really see it either

Kanye has actually said that Cody Chesnutt - Headphone Masterpiece is where he got the idea for the sound and melodies and of 808's. And then t- pain with the auto tune sound. Cudi didn't birth any of that s***.

Cudi crafted various songs on that album and inspired the sound that was 808s and Heartbreaks. It’s funny because Heartless was written by Cudi but no one seems to give him the credit. It’s quite the opposite for Drake where haters give the Weeknd all the credit even though he was only involved in 5 songs and most of the Take Cares sound is derivative of the Club Paradise and Marvin’s Room which had nothing to do with Abel. When will Cudi get his due?

Because one is Drake and one is Kanye

Yeah T-Pain said it himself to complex (iirc) that Ye told him what he was doing was great but he didn’t know how to market it and that was what Ye was gonna do with 808s and took him to the studio or whatnot

    This actually fire link?

I remember reading it a few years ago so I'd have to find it, but it basically started out in rehearsals for GITD Tour with Jeff playing keys and Ye would get song ideas

Cudi should’ve made it himself then

Also this I just used Cudi because he’s more known.

808s was basically Ye, Cudi, Mr. Hudson and Jeff Bhisker

Yea op but I hand this one to ye because it's his last good album. He hit his peak with this one

    Overrated album anyway

  • zenirama

Just give cudi the credit lol it's not surprising that he was the biggest contributor to kanye's worst album

808's ain't kanye's worst album by a longshot. especially after all we been through now.
