Imagine bringing up record sales in 2020

How can you compare yourself to other labels when you not even competing on the same level they are 😂.

It has nothing to do with marketing lol it has everything to do with expansion, audience and versatility. How can they say they are competing with TDE and Dreamville when one of the metric is sales and chart placement. I’m not saying they have to be the biggest group ever but flopping and making the same great music over and over doesn’t make you the best group. It makes you consistently good but most of their music occupies the same lane. Same producers. Same features and they don’t sell. No hits. Not bangers. Just underground s***

all thee that you mentioned have to do with marketing and outreach. dreamville has bas who if not for a j Cole cosign would not sell s*** with his safe ass music. good thing people love chill vibes and so he doesn't appear as dime a dozen thanks to his safe ass label (even then he does when you think about it).

Griselda won't sell because they're not as marketable. you have to be young to sell street s*** to young white audiences. other than that Dr. Birds was a hit, WSG got Tyler The Creator, Jay Versace, Preem and Alchemist one the SAME album, Busta Rhymes and Eminem on two different albums just last year. idk on bangers as its definitely not that type of music but thats just that, other type of music

I have been to three Griselda shows and their shows are 90 percent white dudes what are you talking about?

I’m saying Griselda all make the same type of music there is no diversity.

JID is differnt than Cole who is differnt than earthgang who is differnt from ari Lennox

Kendrick is differnt fro lm absoul who is different from Q who is different from SZa who is differnt from Isaiah and then SIR

Griselda makes great music but they are the ones that said that they were the number one group so they Brought the comparisons.

    Benny has 3 amazing projects
    Conway has 5 amazing projects
    Westside has 12 amazing projects

Include the Griselda and Hall N Nash collabs that is a total of 24 incredible projects in the span of 4 years. No label or rap group has ever done that before. That's why they are unique, it doesn't matter if they aren't "selling" (goofy nigga). Niggas like DaBaby make the same album twice in a row and niggas already sick of it.

This is bullshit. If hip hop ended today none of them would have a top 100 album of all time. Just stop. You are overrating them when they make rehashed 90s rap

  • Apr 17, 2020

How the f*** are you rating niggas that high that have zero impact on 99 percent of hip hop.

    They don’t sell.
They don’t push the culture forward.
They don’t have a unique sound.
Their shows are 90% white dudes.
    They are averagely acclaimed.
They are doing what roc Marci been doing for a decade now.

I have been listening to Benny for 7 years. So I’m not too sure what You are referring too. And that doesn’t matter. All those great albums and only one made a list for a decade list. They aren’t doing anything new or fresh.

Tbh they are already more consistent musically than Dipset or G Unit and ppl outside the Northeast seem to like them more than they did D Block imo.

They old as hell tho and been making music forever. A lot of these other cats being compared to them started in they late teens/20s. Kinda unfair to compare the journeys. We ain't really get to see how Griselda changed over the years as they tried to figure it out. They used to have different names and everything. S*** WSG bout to retire. They def dope af though

you went to three shows of theirs and don't have even one album in top100? that just doesn't make any sense.

if hip-hop ended today we would have to include every possible representative from each subset of the genre and it 1000% includes at least one Griselda release. I somewhat agree with your idea of them making the same music, I too feel like it was mostly more of the same high-quality stuff and not much else, however you sound almost hating on them with some comments itt
