Tbh they are already more consistent musically than Dipset or G Unit and ppl outside the Northeast seem to like them more than they did D Block imo.
Yep, g unit had one great group album, 2 50 albums, a game album, a good banks album and a good buck album, so 5 maybe 6 albums worth remembering
Dipset has one Great group album, 2 cam albums, a juelz album and if we being generous a jim Jones album (he’s got better over time and wasn’t great back in the day imo)
D block had one good group album, and some average ass solos.
The consistency of Griselda are way above all these movements, having said that, whether they have the long term standout albums such as GRODT, Purple Haze, Diplomatic immunity etc, only time will tell
you went to three shows of theirs and don't have even one album in top100? that just doesn't make any sense.
if hip-hop ended today we would have to include every possible representative from each subset of the genre and it 1000% includes at least one Griselda release. I somewhat agree with your idea of them making the same music, I too feel like it was mostly more of the same high-quality stuff and not much else, however you sound almost hating on them with some comments itt
Top 100 of all time? Do you know how many albums hip hop have produced. You really think Griselda has of those albums?

My only hate towards Griselda is the fact that they brought the comparsion with other labels.
They old as hell tho and been making music forever. A lot of these other cats being compared to them started in they late teens/20s. Kinda unfair to compare the journeys. We ain't really get to see how Griselda changed over the years as they tried to figure it out. They used to have different names and everything. S*** WSG bout to retire. They def dope af though
We are talking about Griselda Records. Not Black Soprano Family. Not SE Gang. Not Buff City.

That's my point tho. These niggas obviously got I figured out now. This is the end product. All these other groups took some time to get to that and we saw they progress every step of the way. So why we comparing end product to that

I do know and I still think it would be possible if we only outline regions and waves in this list. I mean if it comes down to ob4cl vs Flygod then s***, ill pick ob4cl, but I would imagine there could be some space for both

I see what you're saying but I think most of the great hip hop groups, if not all, figured it out early but then regressed. Griselda is still making better music and these dudes reaching 40

its hip-hop and you gotta compare. their output is hella consistent comparing to dead ass 2019 on tde side and whatever the f*** dreamville is doing. all 3 know they're nice and they could go bar for bar with most top guys, why would they not mention it. thats what you do when you rap

Jim Jones entire discog is fantastic
Do these niggas even sell records?? Damn. They can rap but we handling them with kid gloves.
all their vinyl releases sell out
it just made me think
this is off his own money, this is just a Griselda record
IMAGINE WHAT THE SHADY DEBUT IS GOING TO SOUND LIKE
he aint done a track with Dre or Kanye yet so you know those have gotta be goals too, esp with Virgil cosign and they already met Kanye and Gunn talks to him daily now
i dont think theyre doing solo releases on shady
Griselda is pretty overrated on the internet. Talk about consistency when they make the same song over and over again. They aren't special at all just 90s nyc rap all over again but average. Benny cool tho
I’ve been puttin em off, not on no hatin just ain’t done it, but I’ll probably do it soon
Jim Jones entire discog is fantastic
Nah, not for me anyway, he has some really good songs. On my way to church was probably his best early album but he’s got a lot of duds imo, his last album was nice though

So they're basically like Joey? Haven't listened to them yet

Still better than lil f***ing Durk

Griselda is like wutang/lox
Joey is like an underground rapper with nyc rhyme patterns
I'll be real with you. As much as I like and appreciate what Griselda does, if you grew up with New York gangster rap of the late 80s, 90s, 2000s, then Griselda is really nothing more than a revival of that.
Griselda is something like what Pro Era was in the early 2010s. A revival of dusty boom-bap beats and lyrics. Stuff like this is always going to get praise from the OGs as these are the essential pillars of hip-hop. They "restore the feeling". This time around however, it's on a much larger scale thanks how big streaming has gotten. Giving people more access.
So while I have yet to hear a Westside Gunn, Benny, or Conway project I dislike, and I do respect and love the movement, I really cannot help but roll my eyes at posts like the OP, or the constant screams of "IT'S THE CULTURE! Y'ALL DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE CULTURE! THIS IS ART NOT RAP!" It's like please give it a rest...y'all are simple rap era revivalists. There are MANY like Griselda out there, and have been out there for years. There's nothing wrong with that. Calm down.
Still better than lil f***ing Durk
Lil durk actually makes different songs. Griselda doesnt. they get old really fast but their aesthetics are cool
I was worried to give them credit because people make them sound like a WU Tang clone for the 2020s, ima listen to them and see for myself

They're very good. But if you've listened to Wu-Tang Clan, Kool G Rap, Scarface, Biggie, KRS-One, Ice-T, Mobb Deep, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Pharaoh Monch, Smif-N-Wessun then you will know exactly what it is you're getting into. They don't stray away from any of their influences and if you were to mix in some Benny, Conway, or Westside Gunn tracks into a 90s gangsta rap mix/playlist you won't even notice them.
