Ya i get these but look at michael jackson as a different example. He kept growing as an artist and putting out better s***

You can’t compare MJ to Bieber lmao.

Bieber was signed to become a star.

MJ started off with his family and then transcended them and became a star

you can compare anything bro. two things don't have to be exactly the same in order to compare them. that makes no sense

I think he wanted to take more of an "artist" role on Changes, working with an in house producer and writing. And I think he needs to go back to the popstar outsourcing s***.

Edit: Purpose is a good pop album imo.

MJ progressed as an artist for many reason.

He was an artist first then became a star
He had Quincy Jones pulling the strings
After he became MJ he then had a legitimate rival in Prince to push him to experiment with his sound and image even if Prince was never as big.

Bieber was signed off the rip to an established machine. Had Luda on his debut single.

How can Bieber be anything beyond a puppet to print money.

Because he doesn’t have any real ife experiences outside of music

He just doesn’t seem like a person who ever really got taken seriously as an adult

Nothing about his content feels like something a real adult can connect with and R&B is an adult lane.

Sounds a little like conjecture. How do you know then first sentence is true?

None of us know these artists personally but gauging him as a person from what we’ve seen/ heard from him it seems to be the case

    Reasonable deduction

Someday some wicked sick s*** gonna come out about Bieber

    You cam absolutely compare them

    Pop star vs pop star.

MJ was signed to become a star as well

Diana Ross presented their first album and they came through the door with chart topping hits

I mostly agree just the first sentence sounds a bit off

Being a celebrity from a young age like Wayne, Chris Brown, or Bieber doesn’t really let you experience life from an organic perspective and grow into your own person naturally

You’re gonna be part of the machine for your entire life and it’ll show in your output

This speaks to the talent of Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and Bobby brown who made it in their childhood (both in groups) and still had remarkable solo careers
They must've exceptionally talented and creative

Also prince and little richard were child prodigies and also had remarkable solo projects/careers

All entertainers/artists mentionned above preserved their mojo since childhood all the way up to their artistic primes

it’s just something that comes across after a while

Certain artists just clearly haven’t really dealt with much first hand executive decision making/ heart break, loss and life altering events before breaking though and it just shows

  • Dec 14, 2020

He is not a songwriter/producer and he comes across as someone with limited musical knowledge.

Therefore he usually just takes whatever a trendy producer hands him like any other popstar who fits above criteria.

Ah it makes more sense now, yeah so basically just highly sheltered

a lot of people can play instruments and sing at young ages

takes much more than that to actually create original music

Michael Jackson’s level of talent transcended any sort of expectation for him as a normal star so he gets a pass.

Bobby grew up fast in Boston projects and what he may have lacked in experience he made up for in personality.

Janet made it because she had the help of her mega star older brother and a marketable image

You have to have some kinda incredible attribute to push past normalcy if you’re gonna be a child star who fills out into a complete artist

I disagree he did have real world experiences and that's the issue with him. He did Pop,hip hop,r&b,Pop comeback all while having a public love story, rehab stints and more.

His issue is physically he's 20 something but mentally and career wise he's old as hell now and in the period where alot of artist run out of s*** to do.

He ran through the typical artist life already

Actin out and getting hooked on d**** as a child star aren’t quite the kind of life experiences I’m speaking of

People don’t even really respect that s*** as adults. It’s seen, especially for a pretty boy white kid like some privileged white kid s*** and not something you can take a person seriously for.
